Spoiler!

I want the $35/month my 10 plan + 1 gig of data for under $65month after tax. What are the chances of me getting a $10credit or a $15credit per month? I was gonna talk to customer relations but they were closed.

If you take my plan... Add 1Gb for 30, you're still only paying 47.50+911+HST, should be under 65 monthly!

:D

My plan again:
350 Daytime Minutes
Unlimited Evenings & Weekends (5PM to 7AM)
Unlimited Rogers to Rogers
2500 Text Messages Send (Unlimited Receiving)
Call & Name Display
Call Waiting
Voicemail

Monthly price of $17.50+911+HST = $23.62

Also eligible for a hardware upgrade. Forgot to mention that.

Please know that I'm not giving away this plan but would be taking offers.

Any change of "threatening" Rogers for a early upgrade? Saying that I'm going switch to Bell or something. My 9700 is super annoying right now.

In terms of a hardware upgrade, Rogers is pretty tied down to policy. I mean, you could try but then again, they can always just flag your account.

Sorry, but how does selling a plan work?
Will I be able to use my own number...? Or will I be using yours?

It would actually be a TOR (Transfer of Responsibility).

It involves one small call and then verification from the new owner about terms, etc...

It would, however, involve using my number but I think you can change it. Not entirely sure.

Site that explains it pretty well.

Just signed a new 3 year contract.

Before renewal

$17.50 - EPP plan (200 minutes, free evenings and weekends at 6PM)
$30.00 - Iphone value pack (500 mb, 10,000 text messages, caller id, voicemail)
$6.95 - SAF
.75 - 911
$61.82 after taxes

After renewal
$17.50 - EPP plan (200 minutes, free evenings and weekends at 6PM)
$30.00 - Iphone value pack (500 mb, 10,000 text messages, caller id, voicemail)
$2.35 - GRF
Free incoming
Free rogers 2 rogers
100 LD canada minutes
$55.83 after taxes

I'm pretty happy, I told them that I wanted to lower my bill to $50 after taxes but since I'm on the EPP plan, they couldn't really budge. The 3 services they gave me makes up for it.

No data? Since you've got an iphone pack.

nah no credits at all. I wasn't even trying for credits, after they gave me the free incoming, free r2r, and 100 LD minutes, i was pretty happy. I'll try to get some credits next time. I didn't want to push it anymore :heckno:

Kilinim 10-04-2011 08:15 PM

I tried for more credits too. Lady warned me my account may be flagged so I didn't really push it.

Are there different variations of the iPhone pack? (e.g I want more Data, Less SMS or whatever)

I currently have 6GB of Data, Call Display, 1000 SMS within my plan and i'm wondering if its worth it to switch to a iPhone pack.

$40.00 - Iphone value pack (500mb data, unlimited text/picture/video messages, caller id, visual voicemail, who called - basically gives you the name of the person calling if you don't have them in your contact list)

shenmecar 10-05-2011 01:18 PM

what, so is the iphone value pack $30 or 40? earlier you said it was 30.

yameen 10-08-2011 03:44 PM

okay so i have this phone plan right now.

250daytime
unlimited network calling (fido/rogers) + long distance (it doesn't specify how many long distance minutes)
caller id
voice mail
2500 text
early evenings @ 6pm.
i'm paying $30 monthly total.

so i have a an oldschool phone from 4 years ago and i believe it's time to upgrade to a newer phone but i don't need data. someone mentioned here that i can use my hardware upgrade, get data and then cancel it for a $100 fee? can anyone confirm this? no hidden fees or extra penalties? i just want to use the hardware upgrade but they won't allow me to upgrade to a smartphone if i don't have data.

my other question is, is a data plan and a voice plan separate? so if i cancel my data plan, can i get my original voice plan back (the one mentioned above)?

thanks everyone. i just need to get rid of my classic phone.

OriginalJC 10-08-2011 04:29 PM

What's the cheapest BES data plan that anyone has been able to get?

It's $40 now. 3 years ago when i signed with rogers and bought my iphone, it was $30. They jacked it up to $35 at one point, now it's $40.

Correct, when you buy the smart phone, you have to add data to it. You can cancel your data about a month after and pay the $100 fee. There shouldn't be hidden fees. Data and voice plans are separate so you can keep the voice plan you have right now and just add the data then remove it later.

Sky_High 10-10-2011 03:01 PM

^ what if he's signing a contract.

Would the data and voice plans be separate too? Or are you SOL?

spades 10-10-2011 04:01 PM

I'm planning to resevere the iphone4s and was hoping to get a cheaper plan, anybody else try this yet, and since there's no retentions number how should I try to contact rogers. Thanks
Posted via RS Mobile

!Nhan 10-10-2011 04:24 PM

called retentions for my friend got him a pretty good plan

200 daytime mins
unlimited evenings weekends starting at 6
unlimted text
500 mb data
call id, vm, who called

all this for 47+ taxes which is not bad.

Voice and data plans should always be separate. You can still cancel your data plan if you're under contract, you'll just have to pay the penalty.

I called retentions 3 weeks ago before they announced the iphone 4s. Got a slightly cheaper rate plan with a few extras. It's always good to negotiate your plan before getting the phone because they can put you on the cheaper plan right away to save you some $. Retentions aka customer relations can be reached from the 611 #. It's the option to cancel which will bring you right to them.

he's basically on the same plan as me.

EPP plan & $30 iphone value pack.

He's not getting charged the GRF?

shenmecar 10-12-2011 08:00 PM

So you probably got a $10 credit for your iphone value pack then?

I don't get a $10 credit because it was originally $30 when I bought it but Nhan's friend probably does or retentions can offer that value pack again for $30. :suspicious:
