This is my plan that I just recently signed a renewal for. I think i got a good deal. Suits my needs. $17.50 - EPP plan (200 minutes, free evenings and weekends at 6PM) $30.00 - Iphone value pack (500 mb, 10,000 text messages, caller id, voicemail) $2.35 - GRF Free incoming Free rogers 2 rogers 100 LD canada minutes $55.83 after taxes I have a question here for the people who have the 6gb data plans. Do you actually use that much data? I only have 500mb and i'm always on wifi. I use probably 50 mb a month max. |
So what are you guys saying to get these crazy awesome plans in light of rogers reps being stingy with giving customers what they want? |

I was originally given 500 MB for Data as well but I asked the agent if there was a promotion for 1GB data and she just threw it in. 500 GB is tons and browsing internet on the blackberry is pretty terrible. I use it mostly for emails and bbm if anything. locked in for 3 years but at that price, I can't complain. edit: my plan used to be $83 after taxes for the exact same options! |

But yea, depends what you do on your phone. I use about 1GB a month, 6GB plan. Also make it an effort NOT to use wifi, lol. Or I would probably use < 100mb... |

^ You on a OS 6 device? OS 7 loads videos fine! Even embedded ones Quote:

In terms of the communicating with the rep I was just explaining the fact that my monthly bill was too expensive (honestly) and she said maybe there was a plan available with similar options but at a cheaper rate. We cut the price down to about $60 from $80 but I told her it was still too much. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes to speak to a supervisor and when she came back she offered me the $45 deal and threw in the extra 500 MB data. I don't know if it matters but she said I've been with rogers long enough to be offered that deal. I was surprised myself but I can't complain. I think it totally depends on the rep that you get that determines the outcome. My friend with a similar plan tried calling to haggle down his monthly plan without success, I think they offered him $5 credit for one year and he's had rogers for awhile. I think if you call them and immediately ask them to match telus, bell, wind, mobilicity etc.. they will just refuse and its going to be downhill from there. I guess I went the pity route and it worked lol, if its going to save me $35/month for acting like a bum I'll take that any day! but off topic, Shaw has to be the most unreasonable to deal with.. |

Yeah the new BlackBerry 9900/9810/9860 are on OS 7 and they play videos fine and run everything I need quickly. |
I called the other day talked to a rep to get a data plan and finally move onto a smart phone told them i'd sign on another 3years on the $70 6gb plan they have if they'll include cid/vm. He told me he couldn't do it and no ones else there could but would transfer me to a manager if i wanted. So i did. Talked to the manager and he gave me a speech saying: "It's like if I were a teacher and I had 10 students. They all wrote a test and everyone got a B. But you didn't know if it was a B+ or -. just a B. There's variables and everyone pays a different price." Ya, it didn't happen. |

The reps have a hard enough job as is with all these cheap ass people calling in looking for credits. Be nice to them and they'll be nice to you. If you can't get what you're asking for just hang up and call back another time. No point in trying to threaten them because they've heard that a million times in the day. |
Why the heck do you guys need 6 gig data plans? Even if you're a student and need to be constantly plugged in, you don't need that amount unless you plan to tether. If you're a BB user, 500 is more than enough. If you're using an iPhone, then perhaps 1 gig. Every cafe, restaurant, airport, and hotel has wifi these days, so save your need to access data there. You really only need data when you're in transit or at the office. You should easily be able to get your bill to 50 bucks or less if you moderate your needs. Posted via RS Mobile |
Maybe I'm not good at negotiating but all 3 times I've called in, the best they can do is: 200 weekday mins (+100 bonus) 6PM/weekends MY10 Unlimited text 1gb data Caller ID 100 Canadian LD minutes For $55.35 + tax (about $62 taxes in) |

Your attitude towards them will make a considerate difference whether you will get a cheaper plan. Don't be one of those people screaming and swearing at them for doing their job because I'm sure they can make notes for your file. If you don't succeed the first time, hang up and come back another time to try again because I think they're sick of hearing "if you can't match *another providers' name* plan I can going to cancel" |

Here are some things to think about: Why do you need MY10 if you have unlimited text and evenings and weekends at 6? If you have a friend or relative you need to talk to a lot, wouldn't you do that when you're not at work or at school? Long distance minutes are something I would think long and hard about too. ^ I think that's just a standard retention plan they are offering for $60 now. It used to be offered for $55 though. I would love to get rizo's or stuff99's plan. |
^ My plan doesn't even come close to what others have, but I think something like it is entirely achievable for most you here if you just moderate your expectations and think about what you really need: EPP @ 17.50 BB data pack with 10K texts, caller I'd, voice mail, 500 MB @ $20 GRRF That's it. No unlimited network calling, no long distance, no unlimited incoming. Posted via RS Mobile |

I have $25 in credits on my plan, and I still pay $75/mo with tax. |
Just got off the phone with rogers retention and they aren't as good as they were before. Called in to do a bit of plan rearranging and wasn't cancelling any contracts. I wanted to switch my plans around between numbers since I was going to go with mobilicity and was going to give my mom my other number with any data. When the girl asked me "oh why are you cancelling the data and trying to switch the numbers around?" I told her I was switching to Mobilicity and then she kind of paniced. She try pretty hard to get me a plan but didn't work out to what Mobilicity was offering. Right now I'm paying about $42.50 for everything, 300mins, unl text, calid/voicemail, 500mb data with $10 of credits. Told me they were expiring and offered me a $60.35 plan with 1GB of data... Also tried to get me to stay away from Mobi because I had to buy a phone out right. Told her it's worth it because within 10 months I'd already have saved enough for the phone. |
^Maybe she was just a newb |
