How much for the actual plan itself? You only list the phone price. Posted via RS Mobile |
well edit seems to be acting up $50 per month plus tax |
I noticed for one of their plans they have "unlimited mobile web browsing" or something along those lines. Does anyone know exactly what it is? Posted via RS Mobile |
It's for shit like WAP. Useless. |
FYI PPL: Rogers is increasing PPU Text Rates http://www.rogers.com/web/content/textrate Effective March 16, 2011, the Rogers pay-per-use rate for all non-premium sent or received text messages will become 20¢/each. Texts sent above the allotment included in a text plan or add-on will also be charged at the rate of 20¢. Please note that text plans and add-ons, including Value Packs will continue to include unlimited received texts at no charge. Rogers postpaid (invoiced) customers will be notified of this rate change via a bill message starting January 14, 2011. Rogers prepaid customers will be notified of the change via text message starting mid-end January 2011. Customers can save up to 61% and enjoy UNLIMITED received text messages1 when they subscribe to a text plan, add-on or Value Pack with a messaging bucket. If you already have a text plan/ messaging add-on, you will continue to receive texts at no charge as you do today. This rate change will apply to the following customers: Pay-per-use text messaging customers (who do not subscribe to any type of text add-on) Customers who DO NOT subscribe to an unlimited text messaging add-on Customers who send more texts than those included in their text add-on allotment As per: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...PPU-Text-Rates If you don't have unlimited texting, you are eligible for this: IMO cx's who are under contract can "repudiate" (within 30 days of the cx being so notified, which according to the ToS occurs on the date Rog sent the cx notification, not the date the cx received it) this "material change" to the terms of their contact. Rog then has 3 choices: 1- put cx on old rate pursuant to the CoC 2- let cx cancel@ECF=$0 pursuant to the CoC 3- offer some other remedy that the cx can accept or decline, in lieu of 1 & 2. Thx for the notification World, and as well to your source/s. Who's gonna be the first to report on how their enforcement of their rights went, when fighting Rog over this? As per this: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...4#post14220774 If you call in and complain and cite the Code of conduct as per this (CWTA) in regards to material changes. If you make it past a regular representative and move to relations and they are still do not budge, file a complain via THIS (CCTS Complaints). You can also call into the CCTS by phone to file a complaint. THE MORE COMPLAINTS YOU MAKE, THE MORE PENALTIES ROGERS NEEDS TO PAY for not abiding to their ToC/CoC. Even if you do have an unlimited plan, call in and tell them that you need to take the future into perspective and that one day you might take off the unlimited text and need to be compensated for that. Blah blah blah. Filing a complaint is easy and worth your time and on the whole, makes everyone better off. |
This thread rocks. Because of you I was able to get a cheap plan. I have been a rogers customer since May of 09. Was just recently on the student plan with 500 data and the value package which came up to $70 per month. I called them once and luckily the CSR guy I got was also a retentions rep and I was able to negotiate this within 20 minutes 200 Weekday minutes Unlim. eve/weekend starting at 6 Unlim. Incoming calls 150 bonus minutes 2500 sent text msgs Call ID Voice Mail Who Called 500 MB of data Got all of this for 17.50 + 10 + 25 + 2.43 = 54.93 + tax = 61.52. I think they fucked up on my data cuz it's supposed to be 20 only...time to call again and complain |
Mother fuckers tell me one thing give me another. After 43 mins of bitching I was able to double my data for the same price. |
read the plan i was offered, more for less |
last august I fought with retensions and ended up with: 350 anytime min unlimited incoming unlimited rogers to rogers 6pm on free unlimited weekends unlimited text call id and voicemail 100 min long distance 500 meg data plan 41.50 total x 2 for family plan = $83 a month all in +they gave me two 3Gs phones for 299 ( great at the time) |
wow nice plan!!!!!!!!!! |
holy fuck, i just talked to some absolute idiot at rententions got the same plan i posted (this time with the 1000 long distance min, told him that's what i was told before)....$50 + tax but this ass wipe won't do a phone at the same time, says they can't....after the woman on thursday told me she would (and my friends sister who WORKS for retentions told me they can) so i'll call again after lunch |
200 mins 6pm e/w free $17.50 unlimited network calling (credited) 2500txt, caller id, vm, whocalled $10 500mb data $25 - $10 credit. 17.50 + 10 +15 + 2.43 = 44.93$ before taxes |

Ive tried searching for it but i can't seem to find it, what is the rogers retention number? thanks :) |
AFAIK, Rogers removed the retentions number. You have to call *611 and tell them you're canceling and they'll transfer you to retentions. |
Revscene I need your help. My contract expires and I was totally unaware, so my bill went up. Normally, this was my original plan: 250/unlimited eve/wkds plan $20.00 Savings: Monthly plan credit -$10 savings: monthly plan credit -$5(probably for early evening) value pack (caller id, voicemail, 2500txts) $10 6pm early even calling option $5 rogers to rogers calling $5 Savings: rogers to rogers 3 yrs bonus -$5 911 emergency access fee $0.75 SAF $6.95 $27.70 + tax I'm planning to renew for one year or 3 if I can get a better deal, but if not, I'll have to pay $53 this month because my contract was over. Anyways, I want a better plan than what I already have, and what do you guys think I can get discounted for? Some guy said the GRF is $5 but I see everyone paying $2.43 so the rep might've got it wrong. He kept saying that I'm already at my limit for savings and that I can't exceed $50 discount of my plan. So the only way I can save is by removing the SAF and 911 fee and change it into the GRF. Any input? I could always do a 3yr contract but I expect something better. I don't really need data either but I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a HUP. Thanks everyone! |
How long does it take for Rogers to "activate" my new plan? My new retentions plan isn't working right now :fuuuuu: |

never ever activate ur new plan in the middle of a billing cycle..cos rogers will just screw you over with their additions and subtractions...(their computers can't do math properly) make it start ur next billing cycle and save urself the hassle of calling back to get stuff credited |
Thanks guys. Luckily I got a nice rep and she asked me if I wanted to activate the plan at the next billing cycle...i think. She didn't really speak loudly so I couldn't hear her... By the way, noob question. But is email included in the 500MB? |
