My friend just secured this...

ninjai123 12-02-2010 02:36 PM

^is that the unlimited north america plan with 500mb data wave off?

w00tgasm 12-02-2010 04:49 PM

Looks like a blackberry student plan with 500mb included in it.

JKam 12-06-2010 01:17 PM

My contract just ended and they've been calling me to re-sign.

Any good plans that I can negotiate with? I see that mobilicity has that $40 unlimited EVERYTHING deal.

I already have:
ultd e/w
ultd R2R
ultd incoming
200 daytime
voicemail/CID
ultd text
500mb data

all for $67 after taxes.

I want to get more data though... I really like that plan posted above.

Does Rogers have any good phones anymore? The only thing that I can resell for a lot is iphone 4. I had my eye on the desire/desire Z but Rogers doesnt have it :( Think they'll give me the iphone4 for free AND give me a better deal?

ninjai123 12-06-2010 02:26 PM

^ you can ask for 6 gig data switch your r2r for network calling, you will definitely not gonna get an iphone 4 for free lol, but you should ask see if they can give you some monthly fee discount or credit discount. and tell them mobilicity have 40$ and get better stuff then what you currently have? also how many minutes do you have? ask for more minutes is also a possiblity as well..:D

Cannot get 6GB as it isn't being offered anymore.

1GB is still an option.

ninjai123 12-06-2010 03:01 PM

^ then that would blow a bit....also forgot to mention ask for free activation fee as well! if you go with them if not just move to mobilicity

JKam 12-06-2010 03:31 PM

I don't really want to move to mobilicity... my nexus one wont work with them. I'm content with everything except my data and how much my bill is.

R2R is sweet too. Everyone I know has Rogers. Hope I can get iphone 4 for super cheap though since I'll probably sign a new contract.

kluk 12-06-2010 06:02 PM

just secured this with iphone 4 from rogers retentions.

250 anytime mins
unlimited text/picture messaging
unlimited rogers to rogers calling
unlimited rogers to fido calling
unlimited weekends and after 6pm
1GB of data
CID+ enhance voicemail+ call waiting+ call display
unlimited incoming calls
+ some other little things

47$ a month + taxes

JKam 12-06-2010 07:20 PM

kluk 12-06-2010 07:23 PM

You could had easily went with Mobilicity's $25 everything plan + $10 data for
$319.80 year X 3 year = total of $959.40 + tax

With Rogers, you're paying $564/yr X 3 = total of $1692 + tax

The "$159 iphone4" might had sounded cheap... but if you look at the $820 you could had saved.... that price could had gotten you almost any phone you want, including a fully-unlocked iphone4....or switching a new phone every year.

JKam 12-06-2010 08:12 PM

yeah.. too bad mobilicity has shitty phones with proprietary bands. I'm not sure about kluk, but I dont care about the phone. I'll be selling it as soon as I get it. So basically Rogers just paid my bills for a year or so.

kluk 12-06-2010 08:18 PM

yeah i really wanted the iphone so that was one of the main reasons why i went with the deal. Now i get to sell my blackberry so it would somewhat cancel the 159$ i paid for the iphone HUP.

Awesome! Mine is pretty much the same as yours except I'm paying $57+ taxes. Was your contract expired?

kluk 12-07-2010 11:57 PM

naa it didn't expire yet. I originally had a 3 year voice plan. As soon as that ended i signed a data plan but didn't use my HUP yet cuz at the time i already had a blackberry. Just waited for the iphone 4 and called up retentions about 10months into the data plan lol.

Delish 12-08-2010 09:50 AM

I was wondering if anyone has gotten the data flex plan since December 1? I was contemplating it for the last week or so, and yesterday (December 8th) was told by various reps on the phone that I could get it. So I went out and bought out my old contract, got the iPhone and signed a 3 year deal. I had to call FIDO again to get data and then they tell me flex data isn't an option anymore! The lowest I could get was $25 for 500mb. I never would have bothered buying out my old contract if I had known flex data wasn't even an option anymore :@

just call in and try a different rep.

rien 12-08-2010 05:17 PM

Nothing special but I'm content:

17.50 6pm/eve and weekends, 200 daytime
15 150 mb
-5 data credit
10 2500 txt/vm/cid

About $45 tax in...only paying $5 more than before but with data, vm and more minutes! I don't even use close to 150 mb on my blackberry :)

How the heck do you get them to transfer you to retentions!?

The CSR won't even budge!

jtanner_ 12-10-2010 02:17 PM

^
I thought Rogers changed it? If you *611 then go automated to cancel your plan it should go directly to customer relations? Happened twice in a row for me... Got a better plan/discounts and a early HUP

Not true.

I almost always have to go through 2 CSRs before I get one from retentions.

And to Cr33pUh:

What are you doing? Have you read through this thread and the countless tutorials that people have posted?

And you can't get a retention plan if you aren't at least on a contract with them.

jtanner_ 12-10-2010 05:22 PM

^ lol I just did it on my girlfriends phone and got her an early HUP... Went straight to customer relations and didnt get transferred at all...

kluk 12-10-2010 05:25 PM

just tell the CSR people that you have a reference number and that you've called retentions before. When they transfer you over to retentions they will ask you for all your personal info all over again.
