I'm curious as to what would happen if your account is flagged. In the past my mom had to talk to manager and multiple people to get the right business plan she wanted and made quite a formal fuss about it. She was fustrated obviously with the customer service and I couldn't blame her but what would happen to it? Cuz right now when I try to call to upgrade, they steer away from giving any promotions or unpublicized add ons. They just tell me whatever is publicized on the sites, take it or leave it Posted via RS Mobile |
^if thats the problem then you might aswell take your business else where? cause it seems like they dont want your business |
Called in twice today to get an early hup...managed to squeeze a $50 credit so I am happy. |
^ how early? |
God, I honestly feel stupid resigning another 3 years with Rogers now. It seems no one is getting a good plan with them now....... |
i cancelled my rogers and went with virgin |

Just want to share my experience today with calling Rogers. I have two lines with them, and before today, they were under different account numbers, so I would get two bills per month. I wanted to put them both under the same account number so I would only get 1 bill and I can log in online to check usage for both of them at the same time. (instead of logging in to each seperately) So i called and had them do the switch of one line into the other account number. This was an easy process. After it was done, I logged in to myrogers and indeed there is two numbers on that account number, but the number that just got switch had LOST the 100 bonus minutes that was on it before. I was furious and called them back and this second rep said it was only natural to lose that 100 bonus minutes because it was an add-on specifically for an ACCOUNT, not the PHONE NUMBER. So since I switch my phone number, the bonus 100 minutes dropped off. This second rep told me she cannot do anything to add it back to the new account. This didnt make any sense to me because the first rep that did my switch did not tell me I would lose this feature. WTF! So I reasoned with this second rep from my perspective as a scammed customer. I wasn't a screaming customer on the line, i was very humble with my tone and was just reasoning with her, thats all. She still wouldn't budge, said she cant do anything, so I asked to talk to her manager. Within 3 minutes, she got her manager on the line and the manager gave me back the 100 minutes in the end. Lesson learned: ALWAYS request to speak to a manager because the reps will just try to push you around. They will say things cannot be done, when in fact, if you bring their boss into it, it can be done in 3 minutes. |
LOL. Well this whole thread is about talking to Retentions. Not the standard customer service rep like you were talking to. I always get transffered to them since the regular CSR's automatically know I'm on retentions plan. |
thinking about calling rogers today to reduce my plan somehow or else i'm going with fido |
iPhone 4S in black 32gig is in the mail. FREEEEEBBEEEEEE... With my revamped fido plan. I used to have cityfido (old city fido) but with all the plans out there now I was WAY overpaying. My bill all said and done was usually between 90-100$ per month. New plan is 25$ 200 daytime mins, Evenings starting at 5, free weekends Free fido to fido 2500 texts vm,cid, Then I got 6 gigs of Data for 30$ All said and done my monthly bill is now under 60$ and I got a free phone. I'm happy. Berz out. |
^wrong thread lol Posted via RS Mobile |
alright guys. i need some help. so my friend who is paying for her ex's cell phone. because they are on a family plan. is there anyway she can ditch his line and put it on a separate account. so she can stop paying for it. half way thru a 3 yr contract. |
^ her ex willing to take over the numbers? if not, she will have to pay for the ECF for that number Called yesterday and got 17.50 plan+30 6gb+16 value pack -6credits = 57.50+grrf+taxes. Not much discount but this line is only 2months old, activated on Aug18 |
I've been locked into a contract with Rogers for two years now. But I did an early HUP one year in, so realistically, one year into a three year contract. My phone credits ran out about half a year ago, so I've been getting raped the past few months. Is there a chance that I could get my phone plan changed? I'm on a corporate plan that supposedly gives me 2500 free texts. But since I text a lot, I had to get unlimited. If I took that off, I could get $10 or $15 taken off per month. Just checking if there were any other possible methods before I do that. |
^you can actually call in and have your credits renewed...depending on the cs dude you may or may not have to renew your contract..but at least the credits lasts for another 3 years! and yea if they require that you renew and you're ok with it...I suggest bargaining for another early upgrade in the process |
Really? Because I remember at one point I was paying $15 for a few months, and then $30 the next.. LOL, would be sick if it was as you said. I guess I will try retentions a call. |

are there any way to not pay this so called " early upgrade price" on top of the hardware price?.. any success stories of anyone convincing a retention agent to not bill you early upgrade price and also waive the $35 bullshit administration fee. |

Can you list what your plan is? |

Now all the credits have a 3 year expiry date, usually so that you dont get credits unless you're on contract kinda thing. I usually call in every time my credits expire and just get them to renew them. If you look on your bill, the last few months before the credit expires it should have an expiry date next to the credit. I used to always just say oh I had this credit on last month, how come this month it disappeared? They'd tell me it expired and just stick it back on for another 3 years. |

The early upgrade price is a new program they initiated back in May. Apparently its a lot harder to get early hup now compared to before. |
Its easier to ask for 1 month service free than getting the 35 hup fees credit |
Have any of you signed a new contract with rogers, but when youre dealing with them they tell you your credits will no longer apply? My parents recently renewed, and when they were in negotiations with retentions they were told their credits will no longer exist. If theyre just renewing shouldnt they still have those credits? Or are credits only good from term to term? |
