well, a red dot is ok

bcedhk 09-29-2007 09:08 PM

check out http://hackint0sh.org/forum

I remember reading back about this similar problem.. I heard the fix should give the "number of miss called" inside the red circle.

!Aznboi128 09-29-2007 10:38 PM

isnt it just voicemail ?

+Kardboard+ 09-29-2007 10:47 PM

Shouldn't be. Visual Voicemail (and the voicemail indicator by extension) doesn't work on any iPhone unless it's on AT&T. There's a hack to enable your standard voicemail service when you tap the icon in the Phone app, but I'm not sure that it'll show the number of voicemails you have anywhere.

!Aznboi128 09-29-2007 10:50 PM

um it is lol i used my other sim which had voicemail and it had the red dot

and then now i pop in my other sim w/out voicemail no red dot

+Kardboard+ 09-29-2007 10:51 PM

lol really? The red dot is for missed calls too, though. haha oh well. I don't use voicemail. XD

f00tzilla 09-30-2007 10:00 PM

lol yea the voicemail thing does work.. when i get voicemail i get the red dot (well actually i used customize so now its an apple)...

anyone have an issue with the iphone not saving wireless settings if the wireless is not broadcasted?

trip 10-01-2007 07:51 AM

i have the same problem .. even thought I DONT HAVE ANY VOICEMAIL in my inbox

it wont go away :(

terkan 10-01-2007 08:17 AM

how do you change the setting of the bluetooth on the iphone? there's only option to turn on and off and if you turn it on it just shows searching, and now discoverable. and can i not select a passkey for pairing? it saids the device will not accept passkeys

terkan 10-01-2007 08:26 AM

i know the bluetooth on the iphone can only be used with bluetooth headsets or something.. but can the phone not discover other bluetooth device? i turned on bluetooth but it can't discover my macbook's bluetooth or the bluetooth on another phone

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 11:13 AM

It'll detect them if the other devices are set to "discoverable". But why bother? You can't do anything with the other devices over BT yet. :(

albert116 10-01-2007 11:19 AM

man...

how i wish that the iphone has a2dp...

but doesn't look like that will happen

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 11:37 AM

No, it still could. It's nothing a software hack or update won't fix.

i saw on one of the site talking about the 1.1.1 fw that some of the hidden features on the new fw includes streaming music and other sounds to the bluetooth headset not limited to only voice and voicemail only? can't find the link again -_- ~ hopefully someone will crack the fw1.1.1 soon ~ heard it's close by the dev team

hmm my iphone can be detected by others ~ but i don't think it can detect others :S it just shows searching

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 03:33 PM

It's not A2DP that's a hidden feature, it's a bug that has been around for a while that with Visual Voicemail, you can get sound going to the Apple Bluetooth Headset only, and the bug is that if you switch to the iPod app it'll still have music going to the headset, albeit it's mono only.

how much are you guys paying for data per month?

stuff99 10-01-2007 04:49 PM

nothing. I just use wifi

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 05:00 PM

Same.

Amuse 10-01-2007 07:31 PM

I just ordered a wireless router haha.. after all these years of using wired internet in my home.

Also, the data plans that Fido offers are quite expensive...

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 07:52 PM

haha nice nice. IMHO wired > than wireless though...not nearly enough bandwidth if you ask me. :p That, and I'm paranoid about this whole wireless thing. I know, I know, we go like FM radio and cell phones and stuff, but I turn off my wireless when I'm not using it so I don't further cancer my ass lol

stuff99 10-01-2007 08:12 PM

youre probably exposed to wifi signals from your neighbors or whatever already so youre screwed either way

so wifi really has an effect on your body? How about cell phone radiation, bluetooth, gprs, edge ect?
and wifi in cafes, libraries, workplaces, and schools, and basically downtown? :p
I guess I shouldn't be putting my phone in my front pants pocket then haha

+Kardboard+ 10-01-2007 09:08 PM

My neighbours have weak-ass WiFi signals. I know, because otherwise I'd be leeching off of them. :D

haha I know, it's silly, but it's like one less thing, right? I mean, it's like in your immediate vicinity and bound by walls, so the you're soaking up all that radiation lol

WiFi at UBC...maybe that's why my marks tanked...AHAHHAHA XDXD

Fox1096 10-01-2007 11:17 PM

Is there a way to receive SMS text msgs and have the iphone only vibrate?

So far I can only get it to make that tone or be completely silent when receiving a text msg.
