What's wrong with the internet? Provided you do your research...

Phones123 10-12-2007 01:02 PM

I tried before I posted here..., I typed "Iphone silicon case Richmond" and "Iphone silicon case Vancouver." There are no good results in Google or Yahoo.

I think he meant buying over the Internet. The best local deals for iPhone cases were at the Richmond Night Market, which of course is now closed.

Hey anyone know what headphones (if any) Will work with this?
I don't like the ones that come with it. and I know regular headphones won't have a mic but will they still work?

Anyone know where I can order the Shure headphone adaptor in canada?

Rogue951 10-13-2007 09:21 AM

nevermind found the shure adaptor on their website under "music phone adaptor"
haha... can't call it an iphone adaptor up here I guess...

bcedhk 10-13-2007 09:22 AM

it will still work with regular earphones. just wont have mic..

Although if you are into head-fi gear, you could see if you can rewire the old headphones and swap them with ear buds

Rogue951 10-13-2007 10:48 AM

it's not that.
The iPhone plug is too small.
it recessed into the iphone itself farther than most plugs so you need one with a really thin plug housing.

I guess if you REALLY wanted you could shave down the rubber of the plug...

I got a cheaper adapter than the Shure one on eBay. Basically the same thing, with mic and volume control, button and clip.

So you plug in a pair of earphones into the adapter? then there will be a long cord from the mic to the earphones, since the mic clips to your collar?

+Kardboard+ 10-13-2007 03:32 PM

That's right, I plug in whatever into the adapter. It's pretty long, and goes from my pocket to my chest with some slack left. I forget just how long it is though.

bcedhk 10-13-2007 03:34 PM

so the new jailbreak for 1.1.1 , all it does is just allow the iphone to be fully functional itouch for now right? * able to install programs*

But baseband can only be done with turbo sim?

+Kardboard+ 10-13-2007 03:39 PM

Just wait few more days for the baseband stuff. It'll be ready soon.

So my dad and brother bought one each last weekend. Got lucky and got 37/38... both 1.0.2.

I went down to the same store today and bought two... both 1.1.1 on week 39 :(

Can't wait for the Dev team to finish up. I'm not paying IPSF for the work that they took from the Dev team.

yosh 10-13-2007 08:57 PM

1.1.1 can now be downgraded to 1.0.2 All functions of the phone will work. This is not the IPSF method. Free method avail on the net. I was able to use this method on a phone that was bricked due to 1.1.1 upgrade. Phone works fully now after the downgrade

Sky_2000 10-13-2007 11:11 PM

the downgrade Yosh is talking is only a downgrade for 1.0.2 that was updated to 1.1.1.
