hey +kardboard+, where did you get ur LCD protective film? any local stores here you recommend? I don't want to wait for a plastic film to ship over.. rahter spend a bit more to buy it instore instead....

I got my cover off of eBay, some anti-fingerprint thing. I don't have the link now, but search for "iphone anti fingerprint" and you'll probably find it. It's advertised as a multi-layered, Japanese thing. It's damn fine too...heh

+1 For BSE. I have one on my PSP, Nano, and DS and its really good. I plan to get it for the iPhone also.

i see on the iphone picture, it looks like it is super glossy. is this just the image?

I dont want something that will be too think and glossy to ruin the orginal screen

1) turn ur iphone on and connect to your computer. hold the on/off button + home button til the screen turns off by itself. then release the on/off button only until itune detects the phone in recovery mode.

2) itune will say your phone is in recovery mode and need to restore. so hold down shift and then click restore. browse to the file iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw (i'm assuming you have that file since you have downgraded from 1.1.1).

3) after the phone finish restoring. run apptapp installer. select fw 1.0.2. when it is finish. run PACAY on it. it'll ask you to reset when you are done. and after that your phone should be activated but not yet unlocked.

4) jailbreak your phone with ibrickr and install the unlock program of your choice ~ iunlock or anysim or whatever you like ~ i used iunlock coz it didn't change my imei ~

5) remove the unlock application (optional)

6) enjoy ~

shouldn't take more then 15mins to do.

btw there's a different version of the touchfree that fixes the problem you got when it freezes in step 2 if you want to upgrade to fw1.1.1~

lol basically the steps are the same except use independence ~ lol when i upgraded mine to 1.1.1 i used hybrid ~ half mac half window lol

What kind of case should I get for my iPhone?

I like rubber cases (I have one for my nano) but the only thing I hate about it, is that its a bitch to clean and it doesn't slide easily into your pocket.

I have a plastic case for the nano too and it doesnt even fit right.. its a cheap piece of shit.

I think I want a leather case with belt clip holster.

they do have the leather holister ones.. but i find that too old school..

Oh man, upgrading to 1.1.1 is a pain and a half. I've spent all morning on this and I'm still not quite done!

1) Started with an unlocked 1.0.2
2) Re-virginized it
3) Activated and jailbroke it then did pre-1.1.1 update stuff
4) Updated to 1.1.1
5) Unlocked it using anySIM 1.1...works!
6) Restarted iPhone, but it goes into Restore Mode!!!

Now I'm trying to do it again...there was a whole whack of mistakes and annoyances up there that I didn't list...hahah Hopefully it'll work soon. Now I'm downgrading to 1.0.2 again and repeating the steps...hahah

All done on a Mac, by the way.

I don't like the hard cases because they have openings and usually the phone has some room to move around in the case. If a piece of dirt/sand/rock etc gets inside the case then it'll suck because it could potentially leave a nice scratch mark on your phone
