Mikroft: Do you think its a worth upgrade over a Nexus S? I waited for that Nexus til the day it released and love it but when i ran the phones side by side the SII was just unbelievably fast. The touchwiz is kinda hindering performance right now though...
All depends on what you're looking for. If you want the latest and greatest hardware then sure. The phone is insanely fast. If the nexus s does what you want and having the latest updates first then keep it.

Touchwiz is not laggy for me at all. Its buttery smooth. But I still replaced it with adw launcher ex.

played with the phone most of the day, rooted unlocked and installed villianrom, what tweaks or mods do i need to check out?

Can't stand texting on a touchscreen get the AT&T version of the SGS2, comes with a slider keyboard. The phone will probably be noticeably thicker compared to the standard touchscreen only SGS2 but Samsung is stepping up their game, having alternatives for people to choose.

Ended up getting both the SGP Glas (Black) and the Ultra Crystal.
If the Glas is ugly, I'm using the screen protector instead... so either one will be up for sale when it arrives lol.

Also, if you can't figure out how to root/unlock, check my post a few pages back.
In fact, I figured it out by reading the replies in this very thread, and it's been talked about for the last 10 pages.

Not sure if this is good or not, but I'm at 4h 41mins off charger sitting at 85%
Was taken off charger at 8 am today, been using whatsapp a fair amount with some twitter, automatic brightness

I don't know if it's my phone, but when I lock my phone the screen just dims to black. In reviews I've watched of the phone, isn't it supposed to do the TV tube animation?

Do yours?

Has anyone found a rom that lets you change the SMS styles again? I updated my firmware and I can no longer change the theme/style of my sms conversations, only the font size.

the tv tube animation is only for stock gingerbread i believe. diff roms have it enabled though.

One thing I miss about the nexus s is that if you put the phone on vibrate/silent mode, it silences the camera.

I'm assuming if you flash the GS2 with a different rom that will be enabled?
