Yeah you could just flash back the stock rom through odin, then flash CF-root which automatically installs CWM. You can then flash any other kernel you want and usually you won't lose your root either. |

If you're not sure how to restore a cwm recovery, then you should just steer clear. You'll need to restore your old backup after anyways since this is not a daily rom. |
anyone know how much housings cost locally and where? |

Anyone notice that if you use an image as your lockscreen wallpaper, its never as sharp on the lockscreen as it is if you view it in the gallery? Its almost as if the image quality is moderately degraded somehow..its sort of annoying actually |
anyone have a metal battery cover? My plastic one has gone squeaky and it getting on my nerves. |

1. Make a nandroid backup of your current set up in CWM recovery. 2. Copy the folder you extracted from the ics zip file onto your sd card in: \clockworkmod\ 3. Factory reset/wipe in CWM recovery 4. Restore from backup and choose the ics CWM backup that you copied onto your sd card 5. Restart and wait..takes a really long time to boot the first time. When you're finished playing around with it, just wipe again and restore from your nandroid backup. |
what about the actual the actual ICS when it is officially released is it the same process? |
If you wait for the carrier released ones, then I assume you just go to Settings, then Software Update and you should be able to download the OTA one pushed by your carrier. If you want to flash one of the official ones from Samsung but not from your carrier, you'll probably need to do it through Odin. If you want to flash a custom one based on AOSP ICS, then wait for the cm9 one and it'll be a flashable .zip like most other custom roms. |
Picked up a galaxy nexus. Different feeling than the sgs2. Will use it for some more before I decide how I like it. Posted via RS Mobile |

Did you buy it outright? Or did you sell off the sgs2? |
Traded for it plus $$ |

Let us know if it's a worthy upgrade from the sgs2. From what I've seen, I think cm9 on the sgs2 will negate the majority of the advantages of the nexus except for the screen. |
One thing I noticed right away. The galaxy nexus feels so much more solid. But I'm missing the home button. |
Has any one tried the speedmod kernal? or the siyah? I'm just wondering if there's enough reason for me to flash over my ninphetamine from Villainrom 3.0 |
I was using Siyah before I switched to the Galaxy Nexus. I recommend something like BFQ/SIO with SmartAssV2 settings. |
im on dark Knight which is a modded siyah Posted via RS Mobile |
I'm having issues with transferring music and playing them on my S2. When I connect the phone via USB, where do I drag and drop the music in order for the phone to recognize it? I have been transferring the music to the usbStorage folder on my phone, but I always have to manually go to that folder to play each song as my default music player doesn't recognize anything. |
I transfer songs to my s2 via Bluetooth and it automatically saves the songs in a Bluetooth folder. It also auto detects all of my music for me Posted via RS Mobile |

It's exactly like iTunes. |
Experimental build for CM9 has been released. Follow instructions here: [ROM][IML74K][4.0.3] CyanogenMod 9 experimental Build [UNSTABLE] - xda-developers Alternatively, somebody repackaged the rom, bootloader, and CWM into a flashable zip here: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! Usual instructions: Make a nandroid backup first, copy repackaged zip and faceunlock and gapps to sd card, go into CWM recovery, wipe your device, flash the repackaged zip, then flash face unlock and gapps from the xda post above. If you don't know what any of this is, then don't bother with this at all. NOT a stable build. Apparently calls won't work with networks that support NITZ (Rogers). Not sure about Telus or Bell. I'm trying with Fido now and I assume calls won't work either. edit: Phone and data seem to work fine on Fido. Only real issue is that the phone will not wake from sleep when you get a call so still kind of useless for daily use. Camera crashes sometimes too but overall it's pretty stable. |
Damn they're getting close! |

Got my s2 X today and I was told it is hard to find a case. Anyone know where to buy a case for the S2 X? Posted via RS Mobile |
