Is ICS really that awesome?
i've been running this for 2wks now..its cool..but definitely doesnt change the ways I do things on my phone.

Yea the contacts/dailer is neat and some of the new so called 4.0 apps are wonderful in productivity, but they will eventually make their ways over.

Is anyone really missing all that much? Honest answer is not really.

Are you using it on the Galaxy or the Nexus S? I've been using it on the Nexus S for 3 weeks without any problems at all.

It may not be a make or break thing, but it's something new and different. For those of us who get bored pretty easily of the same technology, it's nice to have something different. Different doesn't mean better or necessary, it's just different.

I can see what you mean by this. I remember changing phones before simply because having one got boring after a while. Having a new and unfamiliar toy to play with was half the fun

Armind 12-12-2011 01:19 AM

^ That always seems to be the case with me. If only i have the cash to do so more often lol.

Is this a common problem?? Funky tint on the bottom left corner when the screen is set at the lowest brightness.

Yeah for me it was so awesome to be able to change so often, but the older I got I started realizing how stupid it was and how much money I could have been saving. I think I started slowing down when I got into blackberry.

This is another reason I started slowing down. I liked to have a phone that was SUPER expensive so nobody else would have it, had every single high end feature available even though I wouldnt even use half of them.

In the end it was a waste of time

Ok I have a small dilemma, and I'm not sure if there is a fix for this. I have 3 different camera apps. PaperCamera, Vignette, and the stock camera.

I have Papercamera and vignette set to save to the same folder on my internal SD. The stock camera + videorecorder are saved to a seperate folder on the external SD.

In my gallery it shows up as 2 different folders, each named "Camera"

I want to be able to differentiate between the 2, so using Astro file manager I navigated to each specific save folder and renamed them, however upon using the camera apps again they automatically by default save to a NEW folder named "camera." So now I'm left with 2 new folders named "Camera" and 2 of the old folders containing all my pics and videos with the custom names I created.

Is there a way around this? I just want to have 2 different folders in my gallery named "Camera internal" & "Camera external"

:yuno:

For anyone too lazy to read, I basically want 2 seperate camera folders. One named "camera" one named "Vignette."

I think it's dependant on the camera app itself on whether or not you can set the save path.

!MiKrofT 12-12-2011 11:54 PM

I think he means that he can't get lte speeds without getting an lte plan.

Rated-Z 12-13-2011 12:12 AM

Question: I noticed that the standard power settings widget has been changed to 2x4 and was wondering if there was some way to change it back to the slimmer 1x4 widget?

Or if not, are there any apps that can directly toggle wifi, bluetooth, gps, and accounts sync?

Thanks.

Further to this - my gf just got her SGS2 in the mail from Newegg.ca
at the lowest brightness settings, there's this small part of the screen that is slightly brighter/yellowish. It looks like a fingerprint honestly. no bigger than a penny, but dead smack in the middle of the lower part of the screen (where the launcher icon would be normally).
It's not obvious with anything other than a pure white or grey screen.

Should we exchange it? or is her screen pretty good already

I've never heard of a penny sized yellowish area, however I've heard of the yellow banding on the left side of the screen. I think either way you're gonna get a screen that is far from perfect.

Also, why bother keeping it at the lowest brightness?
If it bothers her, then exchange it

called the store they told me to stop using the phone because theres a 30 minute policy for warranty... what?

Called rogers and told me 30 day warranty period to the store.

!Yaminashi 12-13-2011 01:25 PM

Sorry, is that picture relevant to the warranty comment? Or are you just trying to get us all hungry?

Or is the black dot the issue?

Meowjin 12-13-2011 02:02 PM

black dot, thought it would be pretty obvious. seems like dust issue... bad timing because the phone is sold out everywhere and I leave for LA tomorrow! Just sold my 9900.

and oh to the blackberry haters, nothing will ever beat a blackberry in terms of communications ever.

30 minute policy = talk timer more than 30 minutes.

LOL sorry I have my window set at work so that when I scrolled over your picture only the food showed. So I had to do a double take afterwards to see what was wrong with it

Is this a real policy? Seems kinda dumb. I thought there was a 30 day warranty period instore and a 1 year manu warranty.

CP.AR 12-13-2011 02:49 PM

yes it's a real policy. though with android phones you can always restore and it'll be reset :troll:
