case is great, just received mine today. The fit is perfect and it looks nice. The material used for the inside of the case also protects the back so it wouldn't scratch the back of your phone. The front has a surrounded bumper so when you lay your screen face flat, it won't get in contact with the surface. The back as well so it wouldn't scratch your camera lens when you lay your phone down. Oh & most importantly, is not bulky.

I also ordered the SGP steinheil Flex screen protector and I must say it was worth it. Installation was easy and smooth. It comes with 2 screen protector just in-case you need to replace it. It does have a bit orange peel effect but that doesn't bug me. Is super smooth when I glide my finger across, almost as if nothing was on it. I hate those rubbery feel.

if i can go a full day easily, then im ok. and my normal usage is not watching videos or playing music, and an average amount of everything else. but the odd time i do listen to music or watch a few youtube clips, the phone should have enough reserve to get through those days too.
i think thats a pretty reasonable expectation.

The longer they make phones last, the more people will use it. There will never be a smartphone that's impossible to completely drain in a single day (at least until battery tech advances). I"m just tired of hearing people complain that they can't get more than a day of battery life cuz they were gaming, watching videos, web surfing, etc. It's those people that don't understand battery management is part of the smartphone era. Everybody has to deal with it, no matter what platform they're on.

If I cut out the gaming on my GN, I can easily keep it off the charger for 20hrs.

That just means you're not connected to Google's sync services and you won't get any push notifications. Mine always randomly disconnects every now and then as well and reconnects. It's a known Google problem that has been unresolved since gingerbread.
Is yours constantly grey? Or is it just sometimes when you turn on the device from sleep?

+1 for FAUX123

Simplex123 02-22-2012 01:07 PM

K I think I'm going to try faux123 cuz my phones only been on for less than 3 hours mostly idling on wifi and it's already down to 80%..

I'm kind of confused which one to download though.. I'm on 4.0.3 AOKP B24

[Kernel][GSM][3.0.17] ICS4.0.1/2/3/UV,GPU+CPU OC,CIFS,FIOPS,OTG(v010) [Jan-17] - xda-developers

I've only been using FAUX for a few days...I don't think it's exceptional battery.

2hrs 27 min
87%
Screen 69% (turned it down now)
Android OS (16%)

It's nearing the end of my billing cycle and my 500MB is running low so I was forced to turn off data today. It turns out that it saves A LOT of battery! I turned it off around my last post at 2 o'clock and I'm sitting at 51% right now with data off and Wi-Fi/2G on.

Wait, I've always been confused about this 2G/3G/Data Off stuff...

When "Data is disabled" it still uses 2G? Or did you enable 2G only mode?

Simplex123 02-22-2012 11:11 PM

Data can be off but you will still be using 3G to connect to the network for phone calls/SMS unless you toggle the 2G on.
I turned off data and enabled the 2G toggle.

Only works for Fido/Rogers. Bell/Virgin/Telus run 3G only.
