Question bout light flow, does it drain a lot of battery?

Anyone using screen protectors? Which ones? Have you tried ghost armor?

Tempting to buy this.. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/3x-1900mAh-OE...ht_3068wt_1396

Tempting to buy this.. 3x 1900mAh OEM Battery + US Wall Charger For Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime i9250 | eBay

FYI you get what you pay for with the dirt cheap batteries off eBay. The OEM extended battery would be the only one I'd buy at this point. Either that or a well known 3rd party like Seidio.

I'm using the XO screen protector. A little rubbery but offers the best protection as most of the full face dry ones seem to lift on the top and bottom edges.

Armind 01-28-2012 10:31 PM

^ Would you recommend ghost armor tho (i can't apply screen protectors for shit on my own)? Just need a screen protector for now, might consider commuter case by otterbox since i can use my fido dollars..

I thought those batteries are OEM thats why i was like Y U SO CHEAP?

What about light flow? Noticeable battery drain?

!MiKrofT 01-28-2012 11:10 PM

Never tried ghost armor. I heard it has orange peel effect which I don't like. XO Skins still has it but it's barely noticeable. Problem with all wet apply protectors is they have this rubbery type file that dry ones don't. So you kinda have to compromise. Rubbery feel but full screen sticks well or smooth feel but possibility of edge lift.

Well for the battery.. Take out your battery and compare it with the eBay pic. Looks the same? No. Not OEM then. Mind you there are some fake OEM's that even look the same. Another telltale sign is that OEM batteries have the NFC antenna buillt into it.

Lightflow shouldn't drain anymore battery than the stock method of lighting the led. I'll try it again once they support LINE.

Armind 01-28-2012 11:19 PM

XO Skins, you have to apply it yourself or they do it for you? Where did you get it?

Alatar 01-28-2012 11:43 PM

I honestly just got myself 3 dry application screen protectors off Ebay. Cost ~$3. No issue with lifting on sides/bottom/top. It's all about proper application. No air bubbles or anything either.

Comes down to getting what you pay for, and if it does what you need.

As for case, I'm using some cheap thing right now, just to protect the phone from scratches, but I'm debating the commuter or defender.

Ordered online. Applied myself.

@Alatar. It's not always just about the application. Yeah there are a few dry ones that do work but there are also many that just don't because of the curved screen. A lot of them get around this by making the protector smaller than the glass. Or perhaps yours just has a stronger adhesive or thinner material. I'd be interested in trying some of the ones you got. Link?

Same here, never noticed it on my Nexus S either and I had it set on lowest brightness all the time.

:suspicious:

:fullofwin: I just got mine!!

twitchyzero 01-29-2012 11:28 AM

sgp doesn't have poggle pin cut-out? oh well i guess it doesn't matter as i doubt it will fit in any sort of docks

i'm happy with the diztronic matte black rev 3...although the fit & finish around the cut outs probably isn't as nice as the rearth ringke (granted it's $15 cheaper)...it fits the extended battery if i choose to buy it in the future.

MOST of these cases add a LOT of bulk to the phone. It's a day and night difference between having the case on and not having the case on. It takes away from the phone's aesthetics.

At this point, I'm going to go order a full body Best Skins Ever for the phone. Only $10/shipping. Hopefully it works out better.

Armind 01-29-2012 01:47 PM

Not baller enough to buy two cases after buying phone :okay:

This may be a dumb, redundant question, but has anyone managed to find a ROM or application or mod that allows us to sync Facebook with the phone properly?

SGS2 worked super well with syncing and the Nexus is great with syncing high resolution photos (manually only.) But I haven't been able to get a sync of contacts+Facebook together yet, only separate and it's useless having 2 contacts in your address book, one for Facebook one for Contact.

Update

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=facebook+sync

Still would like to hear about your experiences with syncing though...
