Why is there a sudden drop by the a? Reboot or something?

yesterday i drained the entire stock battery in 6 hours with heavy usage :okay:
games, some videos, browsing
wifi/gps/bt off...forced gpu rendering...auto brightness except when in vid (50% brightness)
juice defender on default settings.

it seems that the live wallpaper does eat up the battery even though I barely leave it on at the home screen compared to a regular wallpaper.

I also notice a grey faint line when brightness is all the way down on a white screen....barely noticeable even on auto brightness as well...a defect as I never let the screen stay static to prevent burn-ins...I may bring my unit back to the store for exchange.

!MiKrofT 01-27-2012 12:37 PM

Auto brightness drains the battery too as well as the livewallpaper

Armind 01-27-2012 12:48 PM

Can't wait to switch over.

Bit the bullet and sold my NS. Picked up an Otterbox Commuter and noticed the screen protector doesnt even cover the whole front screen. What a stupid design. Prob gunna go with a Defender.

You never know what these people did with their phones. Just because they say they didn't drop or sit on the phone, doesn't mean it didn't happen without them knowing it. (or they're not telling the truth.

I'll admit the crack seems to be pretty consistent, but maybe that's the weakest part of the phone?

Either way, my phone is fine, and so are my friends/co-workers' devices.

Sounds like they contacted Samsung, so maybe Samsung will address the issue.

just got the phone and damn its awesome, gotta buy an extra battery from ebay now. The Anker ones are awesome, they gave my Sensation 30hr life with games, surfing and music all day at work. hopefully its the same life for nexus

I had the exact same crack on the first phone I received. Noticed it right out of the box. Inch long crack, not a straight line either, but top left corner, the side where the volume toggle buttons are. Had nothing to do with how I treated the phone or whether I dropped it or not. Quite literally crack in the screen before it even left the box.

My replacement phone has no such issue/crack.

If anything, it seems like this is an issue right from the get-go. If you haven't noticed it already, you're probably safe. If you have, you're SOL and should be getting a replacement well within the 14/30 day remorse period.

I'm in love with the phone already, even if it I did buy it outright. :)

Debating the Commuter case. The Defender case is just too damn big/bulky. I've got a cheap $5 case on the phone right now, until I decide on a better case though. Screen protector too.

Co-worker got the Galaxy Nexus a few days ago. He left it on his counter the other morning as he was getting ready for work and his cat knocked it onto the floor. Poor guy now has a huge crack that goes down his screen

Armind 01-27-2012 10:12 PM

I don't think I'm going to get 30 hours without turning off some background sync (at least laititude) but I'm pretty happy with the battery life. It's lasting me a whole day without charge and then some.

On ARHD 2.1.2, James Bond Kernel - underclocked, auto brightness patch (low), KL1 baseband.

Happens a lot to me in gmail. Never noticed it on my NS, so I'm guessing it's a pentile characteristic.

Here's an XDA thread about the issue:

The Nexus S also had a pentile display.
