The Gnex Toolkit is amazing. Just unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM, and installed ARHD in a matter of minutes.

Are you using his 4.1.1 OTA or AOSP build?

I'm on his OTA with franco r216 and it seems fine.

I was using the ODEX OTA version...either something was wrong with my download, or something was wrong with the ODEX version..I reflashed it 3 times (with full wipe) and it suffered the same symptoms.

I then tried the DEODEXED version and it was fine..weird.

Crisis adverted :)

Nice. I always stick to the deodexed builds for battery % and other tweaks.

Tim Budong 07-13-2012 12:38 PM

my goodness
i compared it to my S3 for smoothness and shit
fuck GNEX on jellybean is just as smooth if not smoother

!MiKrofT 07-13-2012 01:36 PM

LOL. That's a given. JB was built to be smooth. S3 is only brute force with processing power.

ShadowBun 07-13-2012 02:13 PM

was just looking around

noticed under 'my phone'
there isnt the 'update' option no more (I am using AKOP 4.04)

anyone else have this?

Tim Budong 07-14-2012 06:16 PM

CM10 roms are starting to trickle out

Graeme S 07-14-2012 09:35 PM

Anyone having any issues with PA JB? Are they building off the 4.1.0 or 4.1.1 that just got released?

-edit-
also, are they still only on nightlies, or have they got something stable? I've done nightlies before and ended up with a nightmare of an image. That were not fun. Don't wanna do that again.

!MiKrofT 07-14-2012 10:15 PM

Both PA and CM10 are very early builds. Even pre alpha. They're not going to be stable for awhile.

Graeme S 07-14-2012 10:19 PM

Guess I'm sticking with stock for 4.1.1 for now, then.

Tim Budong 07-14-2012 10:30 PM

theres nothing special about PA anymore
I was a big supporter of the project, but felt it was too gimmicky after awhile.
I quite enjoy the way JB runs on the Nexus 7, and I will keep it like that.
Changing the DPI on the softkeys would probably be the only thing I will do

Graeme S 07-14-2012 10:32 PM

If you know of a DPI hax, plz let me know. that was the thing I loved the most about PA. Other than the whole tablet-settings-menu thing. That was also cool.

I mean, seriously. We've got the same resolution as the Nexus 7; why can't we have the same menu styles?

Levitron 07-14-2012 11:53 PM

This is half the reason why I stil havent switched over to JB yet.
Liquid Smooth 4.0.4 just has so much customization and I dont need to flash anything to change my nav bar heigh or lockscreen style or softkey color/arrangement etc. Everything is available at the touch of a button

I find alot of the jb roms need to have a mod flashed through CWM which isnt a huge hassle but it still lacks customization options that i've become accustomed to on ICS

That's because all the Canadian galaxy nexus phones do not get their OTA updates from google. They have to wait for Samsung to push the update out.

That's why people are switching to the google yakju or takju firmeares to get the OTA from google.

I gave up on the Samsung updates as they are still on 4.0.2, while 4.0.4 was out for a good few months, and now 4.1.1.

J____ 07-17-2012 10:39 PM

fuk flashed JellyBellyV3 after a full wipe and got stuck at bootscreen. Then had to Gnex toolkit push 4.1.1 onto the phone, install that then reflash v3 over it. Now it boots but no system UI ><! everything I want to get out of something have to restart lol...

J____ 07-18-2012 06:19 AM

finally got it working...

what kernels are you guys running? read this is good but no clue on which to download?

[KERNEL][GPL][5 JUN - #Milestone 4][r200-ICS r220-JB] franco.Kernel | 4.0/4.1 | - xda-developers

theres like r217, r220, 384/512 gpu

which one do i get if i just want stock speed, stability and battery life

Does anyone have any experiences with Samsung Service Centre in HK? Long story short, I got my GN from HK, and there's something wrong with the screen (it's isolated, I can't find a similar case online). I've read stories where they will take your phone in, and claim that there's water damage, and charge you an arm and leg to fix it.

Where else can I get it fixed besides the service centres? The phone is still under warranty, but the stories I've been reading makes me think twice about bringing my phone to get it fixed by them.
