Starting Sheiko 37 tomorrow. It is a 3x/week high volume powerlifting routine that spans 4 weeks. Will post results once I'm done. Pre Sheiko stats:

BP: 335 (pause rep/powerlifting rep)
Squat: 445
DL: 505

Although I hit 365 on BP before, actual meet rep is a different animal, so I will have to train that from now on.

In my last post I mentioned I wanted to switch over from the Stronglift Program to the Layne Norton Power/Hypertrophy Training Routine, and was wondering If had a solid foundation for it

squat : 290lbs
bench 170 lbs
deadlift 290lbs
overhead press: 125lbs
barbell rows: 155lbs

@ 173lbs

reason for the switch I want be at the gym 5x a week instead of 3x

Short answer: There's probably still a lot of easy gains to be made on stronglifts for you.

Long answer: But if you're not enjoying the program, it's kind of pointless to continue. You might be working a little harder for comparable results on the Layne Norton program, but if you have more fun doing it, that's a good enough reason to switch.

finished week 3 of smolov today, shoulder pains have near gone away, thanks red_sir for the link to band pull aparts stretches really helped alot

any1 ever consider doing a 4th week? i did the program using my true 1rm, and i think if i do another week i might be able to get even stronger than what i already gained from the 3 week program, thoughts?

red_sir 03-10-2013 10:25 PM

If you're feeling good, you can take a few days off and then do the whole program again with a slight bump in weights. I haven't tried that myself but I think it would work.

if hanh isnt natty, how about chris jones then? Chris jones is just as big

Shoulder dislocations are really good too.

After deciding to do some volume on squats yesterday, I realized how much I need to work on my endurance.

Can squat 345 1RM, but struggles to 12 rep 225 :fuckthatshit:

i wouldnt worry too much about it, strength builds endurance but not necessarily the other way around

I bet you could've got 20 if you wanted it bad enough! You might need 5+ seconds between reps but you can do it. Just make sure there is a bucket near by lol.

that would be me

Im switching up my workouts, I used to work on chest first then triceps then legs on Monday, Wed, Friday. And Back first and bicep on Tuesday, Thursday.
Now I am prioritizing legs first then chest/ triceps. I have more energy to workout on my legs/calves and dedicate more time to them since they are lacking. But I cant walk across the gym without limping.. =S so sore

Stealthy 03-11-2013 02:57 PM

Said I would do it sumo but instead I did it conventionally cause I felt like it. It's been a few months since I hit this but I was feeling great on Saturday so I went for it.

405 x 1 deadlift, dubbed over the warcry cause the gym music is phaggy. I'm aiming for 5 reps on this next.

its a fruitless endeavor debating who is or is not natty

for example, this guy is 100% juicer

hal0g0dv2 03-11-2013 08:19 PM

epic way to end chest work out
3 sets of drop sets from 3 plates on bench to 2 plates to one plate
almost blacked out

Fcukedd 03-11-2013 08:37 PM

^ I wish I could do those drop sets like bodybuilders you see in videos

Expectation:
4 plates -> 3 plates -> 2 plates -> 1 plate

Reality:
2 plates -> plate+25 -> 1 plate

:okay:
