Anyone need beta alanine? I got a tub lying around that I've used maybe twice and couldn't be bothered to take it everyday. It's all max and pretty much full, if you want it , you can take it.

Instantneedles, I just looked. The salmon at costco is 1.36kg and is on sale this week for $24.99. First time I've seen it on sale for over a year

Edit: premier protein bars are also on sale right now. 18 pack for $15.99

Deciding to squat like a powerlifter now. Fucking ridiculous in terms of how easy low bar is to high bar.

Anyone experience discomfort when transitioning though? Still having a bit of trouble finding that 'shelf' and kinda hurts my rear delts (am I doing it wrong?)

i think if i were to sum it all up, back tightness is key. if you were to collapse in your shoulders or your hips, your back tightness is thrown off and then the pressure will then shift higher up into the extremities. but fuck what do i know, been dealing with joint pain since the dawn of day

Tweaked my rotator cuff. Inclining 125's and my arm wobbled on the last rep. Stupid mistake. Now it's sore as fuck. Gonna need a couple weeks recovery for sure. Anyone else injure their rotator?

trollguy 02-04-2015 03:04 PM

many times. lol

basic rehab are the elastic band exercises

is your ROM quite limited bfore pain?

Tr1ll 02-05-2015 10:54 PM

Do you guys have any tips on avoiding neck pain when doing shoulder press? Shoulder press with dumbbells in particular. Finding myself straining my neck a lot, especially when I'm pushing the last one.

320icar 02-05-2015 11:04 PM

Are you standing or sitting? I've never felt any neck pain in any sort of OHP or whatever..

Sitting

320icar 02-07-2015 01:56 PM

Hmm. I always do military OHP so I'm not sure.

Any of you SC regulars gonna be around this Monday evening? I've finally got my girlfriend into lifting for the past few weeks. She's never done squats or deads before, and I'd love it if one of you guys were around to show her a quick crash lesson? I'm no pro at all so I'd prefer her to learn from someone who has a lot of experience

This may be one of my favorite threads on RS.

I started going to the gym again back in November but was kind of lost doing machines etc. So I decided to do a little research and found a good starting point with Stronglifts 5X5 (I'm 8 weeks in).

Having gone through 30 pages out of 1218, I must say, you guys are truly beasts!!

Its tender now with good ROM but even benching 1 plate a side I can feel pain. I've been keeping the weight low and doing slow reps just to keep working the muscle. Can't do incline press still. Tried with 65's and had to stop after a few reps. All other exercises are not affected only bench. Feelsbadman.

Berz out.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.. it's such a waste of time eh? :(

Sid Vicious 02-12-2015 11:21 AM

If you're not retracting your scapulas enough when you bench, that can cause shoulder pain

Fcukedd 02-12-2015 11:42 PM

On Smolov Jr. for bench, but dropping the frequency in half (2x/week instead of 4x)

10x3 is brutal

dachinesedude 02-13-2015 07:59 AM

you're not on smolov jr if you modify it imo, if you are gonna follow a program then do it, its designed that way for a reason

thats stupid imo

you're still increasing strength if you're putting in the work.

anyways smolov is designed to be a peaking program so if u split it into 2x a week its overall a more sustainable program

Vancouver240sx 02-13-2015 08:59 AM

Just hit a new PR bench at 2 plates yester. Not as big as some of you beasts but it was big for me!

Rich

I have done Smolov Jr about 2 years ago and it completely destroyed my elbows.

Gave me such bad tendonitis that it still lingers to this day, so I'm trying this 2x thing as an alternative.

been doing floor presses for a few months now was able to make substantial gains on my bench press went from 225 x 8 to 305 x 8 feeling like a beast! Also been working my accessories during my bench days (OHP, up right rows, close grip bench) helped so much these few months. Planning on starting my 8 week cut soon hopefully I can go from 190 to 175. If you guys have any tips with supplements or training please share I havent done serious cut before!

Pulled something in my back today, felt a sharp pain in lower back while squatting. Spent an hour in the sauna but still can barley bend forward for backwards. :okay:
