legs are fried

I skipped caffeine this morning so I could try 1 full scoop of Assault again. Last time I tried that, my heart was racing too much between deadlift sets, and I couldn't get a good working set in.

Today will be squats, bench press, chin ups, deadlift

Lol, I've been like that for the past couple days after taking assault. Assault is good but I'm sensitive to caffeine and when I upped my dosage I ended up waking up all tense and shit lol. I can't imagine what would happen to me if I took 1MR hahaha.

back to the gym tomorrow morning ... feeling pumped as ever. Diet is falling back into place very nicely, I hate it but I'm starting to enjoy it more and more. Come at me 495lb deadlift, 405 squat and 200lb OH press ... It's fucked how weight lifting works. I told myself back in 2010 "Once I can deadlift 225 for reps, that's good, then I'll just get really toned" ... now I'm like "if I can deadlift 495 a few times that's good, and I'll diet at the same time" ... I don't think anyone reaches their goals because the further you get the further you push your goals. Can't wait to set the shoulders and traps on fire tomorrow :fuckyea:

some wisdom from good 'ol thomas edison

Restlessness is discontent — and discontent is the first necessity of progress. Show me a thoroughly satisfied man — and I will show you a failure.

where can i buy fat gripz locally?

SkinnyPupp 02-13-2012 12:06 AM

Kinda had a shitty workout. Started out OK with squats. My old 3-4rm is now 5. However when I started bench, I started to get really sore in all my joints. Elbow, shoulder, wrists, everything. I failed the 5th rep at 90kg, it's a good thing our bench has 2 rack positions!

Lowering weight didn't help, but switching to a Hammer Strength machine did. So I did my bench workout on a machine : okay:

I don't know what's causing it. Could be diet, sleep, supplements, warmup, anything.

Madness. Awesome bench! I am at 205 for 10 reps (can't hit 3x5) and DL 315x2 is my PR

Berzerkers asshole move of the weekend.

There is this guy that grunts way to fucking much for the amount of weight he is lifting. So Saturday he was doing squats with 30lbs on each side. Yes you read that right 30lbs and grunting out 8 reps with it. Now normally I don't care and I would say "at least he's in there lifting" but it's getting out of hand. So I asked if he minds if I worked in with him and he says "oh yea sure man" and I know he's thinking :fuckyea: So I said thank you and went into le squat rack......
Spoiler!

Dick move? Maybe.... Lolz? Hell yea.

Berz out.

Phozy 02-13-2012 09:24 AM

Chest monday it was. Woke up at 6 feeling like shit, took me 30minutes to drag my ass out of bed.
But then I went to the gym... Whole different story
Deadlifted for shits and giggles. Started with a plate, and finished with 235 for two! Another pr.

Then did db presses, pushed 60lbs for 6! Almost half my body weight, felt godly :megusta: finished with dips, db flys and hit one plate deadlift for 16 reps for fun :troll:

Awesome day. Best day.

We always shit on curlers, so there's no need to be doing it ourselves. Maybe his 105lbs is our 315lbs.

Starting to feel the test kicking in now, I'm getting erections all over the place in my shoulders, chest, arms, feels good man. Had a 2.5 hour session in the gym on Saturday, still feeling that shit today.

Speaking of belts, what are your guy's thoughts? I personally never wear them unless I'm slapping on a few plates for pull-ups, but I see a lot of guys wearing them. I think it's personally cheating, I'd rather my body adapt and strengthen its core more deadlifts and squats, I mean fuck you see people wearing belts doing friggin press exercises.

I was told by a buddy of mine who won the last few Sandra Wickhams that he wears the belt in order to stop muscle from building around his midsection for a more tapered look during competition, I think that's wack.

I agree that it's silly for people to wear them for pressing exercises and what not but it's not the belt that's lifting the weight for deadlifts/squats.

I've had some prior back injuries and previously I wore a belt for 2 plate squats, 2x+ bw deadlifts, it helps ease my mind. Now I find that it's harder for me to do the same with a belt as opposed to without. Wearing the belt for a while helped strengthen my core to adapt to heavier weight so I see no reason to look down upon them.

dont let those sores become acute pains! shits deadly man..
you taking any fish oil or joint supplements?

is it generally cold in your gym? i heard wearing warmer clothing in larger, colder gyms help with joint issues during a workout

benjiggla 02-13-2012 06:13 PM

my shoulder joints are pretty weak but i find that with any exercise that includes my shoulders i feel better with a 7-10min warmup on the elliptical as well as 2-3 sets/10-12reps of very light dumbbell or plate stretching exercises as opposed to just a treadmill and stretching warmup

LC21 02-13-2012 06:15 PM

So i went to the doctor today to see if he'll recommend me a chiropractor. He told me to stop lifting and if i had a girlfriend, tell her to massage my back.

:heckno:

Fml.

HAHA, went to my sports medicine doctor, he said after all those ultrasounds and x-rays and appointments, he still can't find out why there is a small bump protruding from my shoulder/pit area when i raise my arms. sigh, some docs just useless

Told me to keep lifting : will do
