knees keeping cracking ever time i bend it.
it doesn't hurt, but it feels weak, any way to treat this?
i've always had this problem even before I started working out

mrclean604 05-15-2012 08:50 PM

@nns

I workout at the oval too and I've seen some of those people haha.
The ones that have been bugging me recently are the ones that are sitting on two machines side by side just talking to each other.. I walk over to ask how many sets they have left and most times they're like "oh, we're not using it" and get up and walk over to the next set of unused machines to just sit and talk..

tubbyboi 05-15-2012 09:49 PM

question is, did you need the machines in which they weren't doing shit on? and if you did, did you ask em if they needed it?

I get mad too but instead of letting it get to me i just voice it to them.

or did you just take too much pre workout and u didn't get a good workout in cause of that and ur just still amped up? :troll:

wuuhoo 05-15-2012 10:05 PM

the guy squatting with me kept slamming his weight, damn it was annoying

truth 05-15-2012 10:35 PM

after crunching some numbers and analyzing some data .. it's official. heavy barbell military press is the most alpha exercise. Close second is heavy overhead barbell tricep extension ... basically anything where you lift heavy shit over your head. Disagree/agree?

Verdasco 05-15-2012 11:36 PM

I started working out at the oval too and it seems very noob friendly with the machines but I have not experienced any dochebags yet.i can see why u are mad people are not usin the racks for squats.

Alphamale 05-15-2012 11:39 PM

I agree minus the military part. If it is what I think it is anyway. I like overhead press where you bring the bar all the way down to your pecs, and lean back at the hips. Now that's fucken alpha!

In his defence, the machines are nice and plentiful. Plus I don't mind not having another person hogging up a squat rack :troll:

Berzerker 05-16-2012 08:50 AM

I must be coming down with something.....
Spoiler!

I'm not going to say Squats are the direct reason for my growth lately but you can't deny the fact I've been Squatting heavy as fuck and have been growing a lot in the past couple months.

My 2012 goals are looking to be reached earlier than I had thought.... and Natty too!

Goals for 2012 are 5 plate Dead, 4 plate Squat, 3 plate Bench for reps.

Berz out.

I've recently noticed this happening to my knees as well. It kind of sounds like I'm cracking my knuckles, but on the knees. I'm not too sure if it's regular or a problem.

instantneedles 05-16-2012 09:50 AM

^not sure if you know this, but the knees have ligaments attached to them as with the finger bones, so im guessing, so im guessing it is related to the buildup of gas in the synovial flyid that bursts when you flex your knees?

Oh, and the GF who sits on a bench while she watches her BF do his workout. That's cool! Weights all unorganized, plates left on the bar, etc.

But hey, what do I know right? I've only worked out there for the last 8 months or so.

BTW, I don't regret posting this or my previous post. In the end of the day, it's the gym I go to.

never really had a problem with oval noobs, all you gotta do is ask and they'll get outta the way

That's what my thoughts we're on it as well. I didn't think much of it as my knees don't really hurt. More of a pre-caution thing, I don't want them to be messed up.

truth 05-16-2012 01:55 PM

grilled lemon grass chicken on rice post workout meal :sweetjesus:

LC21 05-16-2012 02:57 PM

yeah it seems like its more in the ligaments for me and every now and then it cracks.
i can hear the ligament like creek (?), when its quiet can't really describe it
any way to treat it?

Phozy 05-16-2012 07:41 PM

^glucosamine, milk, more squats or hamstring and glute work, fixed my knees right up, damn I'm grateful for squats. What it does is it pulls your knee ligaments back iirc, so there's a balance if that's the problem.

However, I'm starting to have a sharp pain after squats/deads in the lower back area, but only on the right side. I only feel the sharp pain on one rep, the first heavy rep. It feels like a bone, an inch or two above the glutes. Any idea as to what? If it continues ill be heading to the doctor to see if I can get an assessment. Hopefully won't have to stop 5x5.

Excelsis 05-16-2012 08:01 PM

That's what i was complaining about last week in the sacrum area, i applied a bunch of cream and apparently it helped, though it hurt for around 5 days and now it's gone

should check on chiro soon to see if everything's alright

instantneedles 05-16-2012 08:48 PM

^hmm, this is kinda getting me worried now...
