second time asking

does anyone know where I can get my standing vert jump measured?

Meowjin 10-09-2012 02:43 PM

Knew something was up last week when I slept 12 hours on my rest day. Sick as a dog today. Ive only trained 3 times in the last 10 days. Going to reevaluate my goals and hopes and start back up tomorrow.

Also love Arnold's new book.

"I was living in a fantasy world where the foundations was reality and it had skyscrapers of hype.

Heavy Squarts yesterday and then 2 plate BB rows today = tweaked lower back. Felt it on the 3rd rep and immediately dropped the weight. Starting to stiffen up now hopefully I can get out of bed in the morning. :fuuuuu:

Berz out.

idk if this is accurate or not, but at school we just take a piece of chalk, put a mark at the top of your reach, then jump and draw a mark at the top of your jump and measure the distance between the 2
i got 70cm

I've deadlifted 4 plates before in a single rep, but that was when I was cycling creatine and was really pushin it hard.. was kinda shaking on the way up, and was a bit short from locking out, so I guess I'll stay with 385. Seems like most of the guys here should be on a 6 plate dl race, based on the videos that I see... strong mofos

I've been learning to power clean and I'm experiencing some tenderness on my shoulders where I catch the bar, some bruising too. Is this normal as I'm just working on form? Or should I be catching differently. D:

Nice. I tried that method a few weeks ago and got 33 inches, now I'm looking to do it on the mat

measure your reach.

find a regulation basketball hoop which is 10"

jump up and see where you are relative to the rim

subtract from your reach, you get a rough estimate

Definitely don't catch differently. If you aren't catching on your shoulders then the only other place is on your collar bones which is not good. You'll absolutely feel even more pain if you catch on your collar bones. Also if you catch on your collar bones it means that are not getting your elbows/chest up high enough during your catch. Keep working on the form and you'll be golden:thumbs:

exactly what I did, except I was making sure my hand hit the backboard so I could measure the chalk mark

What's everyone's DL 1RM in relation to body weight? (DL weight/body weight.) My DL is currently 2.3x my body weight.
