obviously nowhere near as strong as you guys, but at least it made me smile :awwyeah:

working set's usually 155 x 6-7 reps
strength&conditioning class really helped me out, especially with my form

SICK! good job lil nigglet. I borrow my friend's pass once in a while so maybe we can workout together one day at AF

Not yet, i'm hoping in the next few weeks or so... Once I can bang out 5-6 reps of 295, I will definetly give it a shot...

its slowly starting to increase, but at the same time, my weight is starting to increase exponentially, went from 168lb to 175lb this past week... :okay:

Will probably have to do some HIIT to burn off the extra calories...

So last night at the gym...my shoulder kinda gave out while doing flat bench.
At the time, my right shoulder gave me some slight discomfort, so I pushed thru the pain and finished my workout.
When I got home, the pain got progressively worse.
And when I woke up, the pain is now excruciating to a point where I cannot move my right arm at all, or even sleep on my right shoulder.
Is this something I should go see a doc/physio for? Or just RICE it?
Do those hot/cold patch work?

TIA

shoulders and bench do not mix.
i find that most ppl get pain in the shoulders from bench or not, if you do probably your best bet not to bench

wuuhoo 01-11-2013 01:01 PM

first mistake was working through the pain, thats when u start tearing shit.
the pain is there for a reason and u shouldnt be lifting with it.

i had a prob with shoulders during bench and it ended up being my rotator cuffs, i suggest u check it out and let it heal before u do bench again

also the pain prob mean that ur form might need a little help kuz u seem to be doing guillotine presses, unlike the normal bench where ur elbows are slightly bent in

Yea I probably shouldn't have worked through the pain.

And I'm guessing its my rotator cuff also.....
Problem is, looks like I won't be able to do anything with my right arm for abit.
Shoulders are out, back is likely out
Might still be able to do curls and tricep pull downs.
I guess it'll just be cardio until the it heals.

Any ideas on timeline? Couple of days? Couple of weeks?

It can take a while. I first got it, and it was a slight pain. Only hurt when doing pressing excersizes, and dips. I still went everyday, and also went kickboxing.

Then, I got a different job and was forced to drop kickboxing. Still went to the gym, and a few months later the pain went away. Maybe your doing an activity that is directly causing the pain. For me it was KB. Try and find out what is causing yours. Try not doing bench for a while, and maybe focus on cables for chest instead.

Might do the trick for you
