I'm going to try 5x5 on squats tonight. Hoping a change up to my leg routine will kickstart their growth because they are currently pathetic and embarrassing.

Just like the saying "you are only as strong as your weakest link.". If your compounds are suffering because of a particular aspect you gotta work on it. Employing techniques like rest pause, negative reps, alternating dumbbell press has helped me alot with controlling my reps. What i could lift before with shaking arms i can now lift with much more stability. Sometimes, just benching alone wont help you break a plateau. For example, triceps have always been a weaker part of my bench, so now im starting to do some narrow grip barbell bench and narrow dumbbell press to help strengthen the triceps.

Also, whether you are going for hypertrophy or strength, doing both will help you progress towards your goals much faster.

Hypertrophy rep scheme: strength rep scheme
A ratio of 1:1 for strength
A ratio of 2:1 for size/hypertrophy.

damnit caught the flu =( I was at the gym yesterday morning, and during the night my body was so sore, I couldnt really move. Next thing I got a bad fever. I want to go back to the gym !

Hopefully I wont be sick for too long or else

^ it's apparently cute so they do it. Regardless of where you are in Japan, even in the most seemingly rural areas, girls will walk like that. They can walk "normally", but they just choose to walk in a more "cutesy" way. A vast number of women also change the pitch of their voices and make it higher to sound more attractive. That's for another story and another thread, though :)

It's not culture, it's genetic. The gene pool in Japan is quite shallow, things like bow legs, bad teeth, etc have become part of the overall genetics in Japan. There are many corrective products to fix this, but for a lot of people, it is just considered 'normal' so they stick with it.

Changing voice pitch, etc, is cultural.

- laying down pull overs


Back
- lat pulldown
- closed grip pull down
- barbell row

Shoulders
- overhead press with barbell
- upright rows
- shoulder butterflies
- cross cable extension

Legs
- squats
- leg press
- leg extension
- leg curls

Biceps/Triceps
- Tricep cable push down and preacher curl super set
- skull crushers with dumbells and bicep curls super set
- hammer curls
- cable curls/ez bar curls

obviously alot of my terms are incorrect but that's his routine...thoughts?

i don't agree with some of it but i'd like to hear what you guys think....each one of those is a seperate day
