^^^
I wanted the same setup on my previous car...ended up with Griffin BlueTrip. You don't have to worry about the battery dying or anything

^ I saw that one too, but it duplicated functions I already had. I didn't want to spend money on another BT device to handle calls when my factory stereo already does this. Plus I lose the voice recognition and steering wheel controls.

BTW, for GS3 owners this also fixes the problem where something plugged into the headphone jack screws up the bluetooth. In fact, that's where I first heard about this adapter - from an Android forum discussing workarounds.

any suggestions for a matte screen protector I can get locally? or should I wait for the apple store or order a sgp one ... i've used the apple store one before and i've used the $2 before... the apple store one does last longer, or forever so I don't mind spending a little more, just thought i'd ask here first

Ikkaku 10-15-2012 02:17 PM

Personally I get the cheaper ones, but they last me quite a while. I always keep my phone separate from my keys, or the window scraping razor blades.
However, I'm not sure how rough you are with your phone, nor do I quite understand what you mean by how long they last.

you could get 7 of those $2 protectors for the price of the one at apple store

It improved yes but I dunno bout a lot.

With LTE turned off the battery life feels more like my iPhone 4 now.

dangonay 10-15-2012 06:49 PM

My battery life is the same as my 4S. Gets me through the whole day with about 20% left. I leave everything on (BT, LTE, WiFi).

shawnly1000 10-15-2012 06:56 PM

Brightness settings/Auto-Brightness? Bluetooth? Push/notifications? Location services? These may also be affecting the battery life

My thoughts exactly; it's been the same for every other iphone. Turn all that shit off and keep the brightness low and it should last 8-10 hours from full charge.
Also close your apps before locking the phone make's a difference too.

1. lte off when you dont need stupid fast internet (3g on this phone is amazing compared to 3g on 3gs anyway)

2. brightness settings turn it down to 25%, with auto adjust.

3. mail fetch every hour or longer

4. turn off all notifications that arent necessary. all the games, and utilities you dont care for.

5. have a spare charger on you in the car or at work, then you'll rarely 0 the battery.

I'm confused about all these issues coming up on your phones... I have everything on (LTE, WiFi, Notifications, Location Services, even Bluetooth for 3 hours) and mine can last a day and a half ...
Right now I've had it unplugged since 7 hours ago, and I even spent about 20-30minutes playing some Apps, currently sitting at 74%.
On my first charge when I got the phone I was taught to drain the battery completely before recharging it. It sat at 1% FOREVER ... couldn't get the phone to die lol ... then I had to boot up 2 more game Apps for a few minutes before it finally shutdown.

RixLin 10-16-2012 04:57 PM

does closing all the apps by double clicking the home button help prolong the battery?

LiquidTurbo 10-16-2012 05:17 PM

Do a settings restore.
