Right now I've had it unplugged since 7 hours ago, and I even spent about 20-30minutes playing some Apps, currently sitting at 74%.
On my first charge when I got the phone I was taught to drain the battery completely before recharging it. It sat at 1% FOREVER ... couldn't get the phone to die lol ... then I had to boot up 2 more game Apps for a few minutes before it finally shutdown.

What's your usage time per day?

Obsideon 10-16-2012 06:53 PM

Hmm... I don't really keep track but roughly ... on average about 10-20min of talk time, text messages back and forth thoughout the day (let's round it to around 50?) ... killing time on a few Apps for about 15-30min (while I'm doing something ELSE :ifyouknow:), surfing the net when I need to google something, watch youtube for about 5-10min.

I'm not necessarily a "power user" but I think I'm quite average?

DanHibiki 10-16-2012 06:59 PM

^you can go to settings-->general-->usage and it tells you your usage and standby time since last full charge.

Obsideon 10-16-2012 09:31 PM

Ah! It says 2 hours, 16 Minutes since last full charge.
60% now since this morning.

Not sure what they calculate as usage though? Does it mean as long as the phone is unlocked?

josayeee 10-16-2012 10:36 PM

Damn with lte off I get the same battery life as my 4s. Last me from 7 am and by midnight it's at 20% with moderate use. I don't use lte as much as the signal seems weaker..

If you're in an area with weak LTE then it will suck more power. This was discussed earlier in the thread. I can't imagine how crappy LTE was last year.

After having the 5 for a week now I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with its connectivity, LTE does not load pages most of the time with 4 bars, it hangs then I need to refresh the page and my home wifi connection which was flawless with my 4 does not even work 80% of the time sitting 2 feet away from the router

Also the chick at the apple store said they are discontinuing bumpers and none for the 5? Wtf...

^ Sounds like you need to return it. Mine works perfectly with my WiFi at home and work, and when LTE has good strength I get very fast speeds. Only problem I've had is poor LTE in many areas, but that's the carrier.

It gets better as the battery gets broken into. I found after 10-15 cycles the battery was much better than when it was new.

E_Fahlman 10-18-2012 10:29 AM

Is anyone unlocking the iPhone 5 yet?

LiquidTurbo 10-21-2012 06:56 PM

WTF, my iPhone won't charge anymore. It's not the cord, or the charger.

smoothie. 10-22-2012 07:22 AM

errr.

did it died?

I haven't come across anything like that. If anything, battery life is better as others said.

Ikkaku 10-22-2012 10:37 AM

I would have to say battery life was best on the first day for me, but I guess it was because I wasn't constantly texting or using whatsapp.

HonestTea 10-22-2012 12:52 PM

Are the phones from Canada(Unlocked) and HK identical? or are the bands/LTE networks different?

TOPEC 10-22-2012 02:19 PM

N
O

they r different n works on different bands

Ikkaku 10-22-2012 02:28 PM

LTE bands are different. This is why in various phone threads, people usually note whether or not it's the international version or the north American version.

Hsdpa is the same though.

Iceman_2K 10-22-2012 07:18 PM

That's why I'm waiting for the next version of the phone to have all the LTE bands of the world.

TRDood 10-27-2012 08:53 AM

Anyone still selling unlocked black 16gb? How much? Only need one.

nabs 10-27-2012 08:57 AM

Keep waiting, but with a company like Apple, i doubt it will happen any time in the near future.

Its in Apple's interest to offer a single SKU for their product rather than multiple SKU's. If they can sell the same phone in multiple regions, it saves them production costs.

Sillything21 10-27-2012 05:54 PM

But they also try to keep it different. That way, resellers would not be able to oversea ship the iPhones for profit. Apple is actively trying to reduce resellers :fullofwin:

LTE spec products are the first time that Apple have regional differences.
Company like Apple want to sell one product to fit all region.

You are thinking about other companies that have regional differences for the same product

there are rumors right now saying Apple Retail store will have unlocked device starting Mid Nov
http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/iphone-...late-november/

Or go Apple Store and buy a 16gb locked to Fido and then pay 50 dollars to get it unlocked from Fido
