It's in English but translated from Mandarin instead of Cantonese.

Even the website:

I feel sorry for anyone counting on that when visiting... "where the fuck is the Tong Luo Wan Zhan MTR station? :derp:"

I did a search for Causeway Bay MTR, and it doesn't work. It takes you to the middle of Causeway Bay.

Fucking fail

This is what happens when you search for "Tsim Sha Tsui MTR"

This is seriously worse than Apple Maps.

I just picked up the Lifeproof case from Bestbuy today and it's fricken awesome, grabbed the white one since the phones white and the grey makes it look pretty nice and no issues with the sound and buttons at the side at all.

Cant wait to be able to use it while camping and snowboarding now.

DanHibiki 11-25-2012 10:02 AM

Noooooo! I just noticed scratches on my screen in the bright sun! ;_;

I know most of my posts have been anti-iPhone 5, this weekend though I was face timing two of my buddies who live in Alberta though, all I can say is wow..

I haven't used FT all that much but I did with my 4 and most of the time it was just a gimmick, very glitchy and laggy, after using it over LTE this last weekend it was as smooth as watching a video I recorded, was very impresses

When did this start?

MTV Cribs 11-29-2012 05:10 PM

It hasn't started at the brick and mortar store yet but some people are able to get one at Canadian Apple store for a while now. It just depends one what kind of genius or dumb genius you get. It just made news because the USA can buy unlocked iPhone online starting as early as tonight.

Police in Victoria, Australia issued a warning to motorists this weekend regarding Apple Maps after several travelers became stranded in the Murray-Sunset National Park trying to reach the city of Mildura using Apple's directions.

Quote:
Local Police have been called to assist distressed motorists who have become stranded within the Murray-Sunset National Park after following directions on their Apple i-phone.

Tests on the mapping system by police confirm the mapping systems lists Mildura in the middle of the Murray Sunset National Park, approximately 70km away from the actual location of Mildura.

Police are extremely concerned as there is no water supply within the Park and temperatures can reach as high as 46 degrees, making this a potentially life threatening issue.

Some of the motorists located by police have been stranded for up to 24 hours without food or water and have walked long distances through dangerous terrain to get phone reception.

In Maps, the city of Mildura is listed in the middle of the Murray-Sunset National Park, which is actually 70km or 43 miles from the city's actual location. In the photo pictured to the right, the red pin is where Apple lists Mildura, while the purple pin displays Mildura's actual location.

A report from Australia's ABC News reveals that Victoria police have had to rescue a total of six people in the last two months after they became lost using Maps.

After the launch of iOS 6, which included the new Maps application, Apple received criticism over inaccuracies in mapping data like the mislocation in Victoria, which led to the termination of several people involved with the Maps project, including Senior Vice President of iOS Software Scott Forstall and Maps manager Richard Williamson.

Apple CEO Tim Cook even issued a personal apology to the public over the debacle, promising to improve the app. In his recent interview with Brian Williams, Tim Cook spoke again about Maps, reiterating that Apple "screwed up" and is "putting the weight of the company behind correcting it."

Police in Victoria have contacted Apple about the Maps discrepancy and are warning travelers to use an alternative mapping system until it is fixed.

Not sure if this has been discussed previously in this thread...
But has anyone else noticed that their battery life isn't all that great with their iphone5?
Supposedly the 5's battery has a longer life, but it seems like my previous iphone4 that I had for 3 years was the same, or maybe even better.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'll see how it goes today at work. With 8 hours of on and off average use, I'm usually around 20-25% at the end of my shift.

Yup. I came from an ip4 and noticed the battery feels worse on my 5 than my 4. It's the only disappointing feature (hardware wise) that I find. Big one too.

This is with LTE turned off as well.

Harder to run across a charger when you're out as well since most people are still using the old cables.

I dunno, I haven't had to charge my phone for 2 days and I still have 15% battery this morning. Maybe because it's exam times and I haven't been on it as much? But thats pretty damn good lol, LTE is turned off

PJ 12-10-2012 03:44 PM

I have LTE off and it's still not as good as my 4 was...
Bigger screen = more battery drain?

Ikkaku 12-10-2012 11:17 PM

slightly bigger screen and faster processor can increase the battery drain lol

whatsapp + fb messenger demolishes my battery
