Every generation the battery life goes down. 3GS was best. I have to constantly charge up the 5. And no, I don't have LTE on. Posted via RS Mobile |
Had my 5 since last Friday. Beginning to have buyer's remorse. :okay: The battery life is a real disappointment. Also, in my household we have iPads, iPhones, iPods, FM transmitters/car chargers, docks... so there's tons of connector cables around that doesn't fit the 5. Also I can't just charge my iPhone anywhere, since everyone still has the old cable. I wish I hadn't jumped the gun so quickly and sold my 4. I'm debating whether or not to sell my 5 and just get a 4s. Either that or get a few cable adapters. |
Great that you need to turn off one of its main features in order to get reasonable battery life iPhone 5 is pretty fail Posted via RS Mobile |

Considering the next phone will just be the same with higher specs I wouldn't go for the 5S expecting a change for the better in battery life. Posted via RS Mobile |
But it looks like he was willing to spend for the latest phone. I just don't see a point of going back to a 4s and be outdated already. I guess it's just me but if I were looking to get a new phone and willing to spend I'd get the latest greatest or wait for the next one. Or you could always switch to android and give that a try. |
Still running on 5.1.1, too lazy to be bothered to upgrade. I'm better off without Apple Maps ruining what was a great mobile OS. |
Google maps finally available as a standalone app !! Gogo Download! App has been updated. Takes a little getting used to but those taking transit will be glad those are back. Posted via RS Mobile |
^^argh ive been searching cannot find it! |
I was able to download and install it.. Apparently I can't even find it on the App Store. It might have been pulled already...wtf, Posted via RS Mobile Edit. Apparently people are having trouble downloading the app. Apparently you can find it on iTunes on the computer and download it and then sync it with your phone |

The main things that are really irritating me on the 5 is the battery and the new connector. Right now it doesn't seem like it's worth the extra row of apps. Android's not really an option for me, since I'm a bit of an Apple geek. So the iPhone's just more compatible with everything I use. I'm gonna pick up a couple old-to-new usb adapters and see how I do with those. :concentrate: |

Since iOS 6 is complete crap anyways and barely brings anything new to the software, you don't really miss out on much this year. WOuld having a 4s over a 4 really big that big a difference software wise? No. So why spend money on a crappy Apple year? Apple probably knows how lackluster this year has been for iOS and I'm sure they'll come out with something big for iOS7. You don't want to be left in the cold with a 4s. |
woot google maps! i found it in the app store, was number 7 on the list |
OMG perfect timing...i JUST sold my note2 to get back into iphone...its weird how it came out few hours after i sold my note |

for anyone who has downloaded the google map are there directions for public transit yet? mine says its unavailable in my region when i try to get directions |
Yes there is. You need a starting point for it to give you transit info. Turn on location service and press the arrow on the bottom left of the screen and then type in the place you want to go to. |

So, my iPhone 4S is locked to Rogers but I use a SIM adapter to unlock it and use the phone on Fido. I just updated to iOS 6.0.1 since Google released their maps app for iOS yesterday, and now my SIM adapter no longer works, rendering my phone useless of its phone capabilities until I find a new method to make the SIM work. I could: A. call Fido and get them to cancel my 2-year agreement and pay the cancellation fees (around $12), get them to unlock my phone through IMEI method for $50, and get them to re-apply the exact same plan, so a total of around $62. OR B. Go back to the store I purchased my SIM adapter/got my iPhone unlocked and ask if they have Gevey's Ultra S in-stock and use the SIM adapter method again for around ~$20 though it is not guaranteed to allow MMS Not really keen on jailbreaking my phone, I'm too lazy to be bothered by it. I've jailbroken my iPad and my numerous iPod Touches, I don't see a point in jailbreaking my iPhone. EDIT: Anyone know if the Gevey Ultra S is currently the only turbo SIM that works on iOS 6 for the iPhone 4S? |
