Tried the nhl 11 demo. The players skate very sluggish and its hard to hit now. I also noticed that doing a 1 timer is almost near impossible. I'm not impressed....

EDIT: They changed the passing system so you have to hold down the button instead of pressing it. Why they change this?, no freekin clue. It was fine the way it was. This is big for us players like that to come down and do tick tack toe plays, that shit is pretty much gone now

Sometimes i rarely touch my ps3, makes me wondering if i should of bought it or not, but playing new games is great..

at best the guy managed to get (ie steal) a debugging PS3 from the looks of it, but from what his videos show I haven't seen anything that couldn't have been very easily faked. its a good point made above that these are all games that have demos, and very little gameplay or anything else is shown. also in the first video, the bottom of the screen (with the X and triangle) is cut off, and the screen flicker looks off (it's parallel to the camera, not the screen). In the third video the triangle has been changed to O for some reason?

so until I get some kind of explanation of how it works, I call fake.

also geohotz managed to access some PS3 code, but last I saw he had no clue what any of it meant and couldn't actually do anything with it. so all he'd managed to do was connect to a chip and dump it's contents (whoop de doo)

Yeah you need to have the physical disc and can only copy it to the internal hd or an external. This would be pretty good combined with blockbusters gamer pass that allows you to have unlimited game rentals, 1 game out at a time for $29.99 a month.

$150 for the "hack" + you need to at least rent or borrow the games + potential $300 if your console gets bricked or banned... not worth it.

albeit if you can rip the games to an external drive, depending on what the files are like you might be able to transfer them to the computer and move them around.

one other thing I've noticed though, why do most of the discs that are shown have that gray strip around most of the edge of the label? my games don't have that. also, they've stated you can rip the games to either the internal or an external drive. I haven't seen any full videos of a game being ripped, so where do you choose where it goes?

so hitting the eject right after boot is what is used to trigger this? sounds odd but ok sure. then I'm guessing the game booting setup is similar to a modded PSP, you still need a legit game in the drive to boot up a game.

according to the fs site, most of the games are under 4GB? which doesn't sound quite right to me.

I'd also like to see this thing running a "backed up" game online. Tho chances are Sony could kill this with the next firmware update real easily.

I'm not sure about Uncharted 2, but MGS4 wasted a ton of space with their audio when they could've used some sort of lossless audio compression. Hell, the game doesn't even run in real HD (1024 x 768)

FF was going to take up the entire Blue ray but because they needed to make it for Xbox360 as well it never was filled.

You can turn off that manual passing so its back to the original passing method in the options :). Looks like I'm going to be playing this strictly offline since I hate the new passing

PSFreedom is an open source version of the PSJailbreak program which normally requires a specialised USB dongle. The hack has now been reworked to run on a Nokia N900 (N810 and Palm Pre versions also exist, apparently). Some level of tech expertise is required and you need to fiddle around with the eject button while you boot – but this still looks pretty simple to do and will no doubt be giving someone at Sony a headache.

Yes you can use it as an external one, you can't directly save to it but you can save your game -> copy to the external and delete the original on the console. then to play again, copy back to console and play.

Anything currently on the drive though, you probably can't get back. If you stick a HDD directly into another PS3, it will get formatted for the new PS3. I can think of a few ways to try and get it back, but I currently lack the second PS3 that I'd need to try it.

Also what's wrong with your PS3? I repair them and may be coming down to Van again soon.

well I don't think you can mount the whole drive image per se, as that will still be coded for the PS3 it was originally from. But what I'd like to try doing is playing around with trying to copy a save file or something using a PC, and see if it's possible to muddle with the files and get the improperly transferred save files working. There's a few other things I'd like to try as well, but I'll need a second PS3.

Best money I've spent by a long shot, gaming wise. Makes every game that much more enjoyable, and I can turn the sound up at night without waking others in the house. You can use them with, PS3, Xbox 360 (have to buy a dongle), PC, home theatre. Each ear piece has 4 speakers. Has front, rear, centre, and a sub. You can control each one individually, so when playing FPS, I crank everything, and turn the Sub down so I don't get so much bass from explosions and gunfire, and can hear footsteps clear as day. Highly recommend this headset. Only downfall is you need to have it plugged into an outlet, it needs it's own power source.

yep that's the one. i use it for rainbow 6 vegas 2 and it works great. it had good reviews and i figure would have no problems with the ps3 since it's a sony product, and the pricing was fair in comparison to other gaming headsets. i dont know about surround sound, but i like the mute button on the ps3 one in case someone enters the room and talks to me i can mute it during gameplay.

i play the real version nba 2k11 and to my surprise im not feeling it.

THe shooting method is weird and chunky? its very difficult to pass your opponent now, you can barely get by than.


Than on top of that its very hard to dunk, of course not able to pass ur opponent doesnt help.


Another thing is the game feels slow, but my biggest concern is the way they dunk they take off just right outside the key.

2k8 lebron use to be able to take off one step after the foul line and off he goes.

2k10 is about half way from the foul line to the restriction zone and some dunkers are able to take off. Now i feel the players barely lift their legs


i dont know, so far im disappointed, and the idea of playing the whole season playing this crap makes me :(

That's true at some points but the difference tho is NBA 2k series has been the
"#1" selling nba game for a while now so to me, adding Jordan and the other stars is a pure bonus... They know it will sell even if they didn't have MJ but now, it will sell even more. Even get the competitor to push NBA Elite back LOL...maybe it won't even release

It's like EA's NHL game, it's the #1 selling hockey game so if they add new features like the 94 canucks for example would be sweeet.

for sure, my buddies were over and i watch them play the demo to hear what they think. They definitely felt it was harder to pass the AI


now with the 360 modded version, was playing with my friend and it was definitely harder to pass by as well, as the new locking system seems to really lock on lol

Spend your first playthrough on the main story and the next few on side missions/zombie killing. Its meant to be played a few times.

ya Dead rising 2 has its good and has its gay.

The restriction is way too strict, so many times im racing against the clock. Trying to get from A to B, and the freaking map is pretty big, without a vehicle to travel it takes a long time. If u wonder off, do some silly shit or side mission which might lead u all the way in the middle of no where. Than u gotta rush it right after to complete ur main mission or give the stupid daughter a shot otherwise the game pretty much ends. I had to restart for not having enough time killing TK's two stupid bitches

platformer..it has probably one of the best community in the recent years for console gaming (there's over 2 million custom levels online). It's kid-ish but also one of the few party-friendly games on the ps3.

LBP is awesome, definitely worth the cash. I don't think it's overly party friendly myself, just because when you get 4 players running around it can become a shit show if you're actually trying to beat any kind of tricky level. For fooling around in user-created levels, it's amazing.

Does anyone know if its possible to transfer saved game data between User ID's on the PS3?

I bought my ps3 used a couple years ago, and thought it was all reset back to default settings. Now I find out that the "User 1" id I was playing under, is actually linked to the original owners PSN login. I want to retain my saved game data (GT5 and others) but be able to log in to my own PSN id. It doesn't seem to want to let me? I backed up all the saved game data onto a thumb drive (was swapping in a SSD at the same time) and every time I load the saved games back on, it loads up the old owners "User 1" id and links the games to him. I can't log in to PSN when its his ID.

Any ideas?

I can, but then I don't have the saved game data. I can log into my PS ID, and then it lets my log in to PSN, but all the game data is linked to "User 1"

I would just use the User 1 log in, but it seems locked to his PSN id. So if I try to log into PSN with my ID it gives me some message about not being allowed to use someone elses ID

the siemens gigaset wireless gateway is a POS..only possible way to get NAT2 is if you turn it into bridged mode..i tried getting Telus to send me a cellpipe modem or the d-link g3810 but it's only reserved for optik..told them i've exhausted all their other modems and they fucking tell me PS3 NAT2 connectivity is not officially supported...they only care if you have basic connectivity...uh hello...PS3 is one of the supported wireless devices on your stupid website.

so now I'm back to the thompson speedtouch...i get NAT2 but I have to use my shitty hub to get the 2 dynamic IPs that's advertised for telus turbo... not to mention it's a PITA opening ports for it if i wanna torrent. fuck I wish I have novus in my area

as for black ops, tonnes of kids are getting banned for glitching, boosting and hacking. the blops forum is littered with threads about "unjustified" bannings. here's a good one:

Two days ago my son's PS3 was banned from your servers. There was no warning and the message says it's a permanent ban. There was no reason given. He has not violated the terms of use for your servers and was not doing anything that would warrant this act.

I tried to call your company, but the only phone number I could find is not in service. I called Activision who suggested I call Sony, who told me to call Activision. Called them again and was told that they couldn't help, and that they have not been able to contact you either, that you are not returning any messages. This posting is the only way they knew of for me to contact you.

Let me make this very clear...I want to be contacted within 48 hours regarding this issue or my next step (since I can't talk to management in your company because your entire company apparently doesn't have a phone) will be to contact the news media. Quite frankly, from what I have experienced and what I was told by support at Activision, this smells like some sort of scam. I spent good money on this game and will not just toss it away because of a technical glitch or whatever caused the ban.

I apologize if i had done this i was looking for an EBOOT file because i looked and the patch ur patch wasn't downloading it so i greatly apologize if it was modded i tested it out on my pro185 account and it said i was 15 with 9mill points. So i quickly deleted the patch and left that account as is and got my friend to copy the EBOOT file from his game (same BLUS #) it worked and i continued to leave the pro account and only used the divinexarchangel account as you can see from the log in dates so i have no problem if u delete pro from ur servers and everything nut please un-ban my other accounts as they are all clean again i greatly apologize and i can assure you this wont happen again and i will try to be more thorough when looking for files that wont load right again sorry. Please let me know if you can help.

Does anyone have experience where they scratched the label of their game? I managed to scratch it :( and now I can see through the disc looking from a top.

However, I've read that the data is a lot closer to the bottom of the disc than it is to the top (opposite for CDs), so as long as I only scratched the label, I should be fine?

Also, what's the best way to clean blu-ray discs?
