I like how he salesman'd me with the Plus shit, as if there is absolutely no other way to transfer game saves, they must be tryin real hard to push for Plus sales over at Sony

God of War Ascension is coming and I can't wait!
I played the Metal Gear Rising demo and I'm not really feeling it. It's a completely different Metal Gear game but I'll most likely pick it up. The game comes with free DLC, which lets you to play as Gray Fox from Metal Gear Solid, so that's pretty of neat. I'm not that excited about Rising but Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is supposedly coming out late this year and I'm most definitely looking forward for that!
Other then that, I'm in the middle of fixing my broken Logitech G25, so I'll be able to play GT5 again... and make more silly youtube videos haha.

yea I cant just sign into my old PSN account because I can't take that account back from my little bros since they have all their game achievements and online stuff for all their games under that account..

I just want to know if I'm able to take my old gamesave from that account and transfer it into my new Slim in my new account and be ok as far as the online aspect of Gran Turismo.... I'd hate to go try race online in GT with that game save and it tell me I'm unable to do so because it isn't mine


Throw in a USB stick, copy over the save file from your little brothers ps3. Transfer over the save file on your ps3. Worked for me before (might depend on game)

Edit: oh snap, I thought this is for offline use, might not work with online

I had metal gear preordered. After playing the demo, I cancelled my preorder because Im not feeling it. I have castlevania 2 and god of war per ordered. Those wil be awesome. I recentl finished dmc devil may cry, you should try that one out bro since you're a fan of hack n slashes too.

Easy workaround. Buy a game, make a new PSN/XBL account for it. When you sell the game, sell it with the PSN/XBL account you set up for that game.

Bought this for my vita not long ago just to play it when i'm lazy and in bed. I'm having a blast with this game and is quite addictive. There is tons to do even after you finish the game.

my cousin/dad would like to play some games but they can't wrap their heads around the controller

i didnt think there were any options for them but then i found some kb/mouse peripherals for the ps3 but am unsure of their quality

not really digging the story...biggest gripe is QTE on normal setting doesn't seem to penalize you at all for screwing up and there's still cliches in the plot like heavy rain

on a technical level, the graphics is hands down the best on ps3 and the cinematics is also top notch...the facial animation and textures easily rivals crysis 3 and it feels like a next-gen experience

the QTE is misleading...it can look like it wants you to hit say down on analog stick but it was supposed to be up. Probably didn't help there wasn't any brightness adjustment in options so I couldn't see shit in the dark scenes.

Once you do it a couple times it's easy. I've stripped several PS3's and it's a breeze compard to the XBox 360, at least Sony uses regular screws not stupid plastic clips and torx bolts.

Nope, that HD will only work on the PS3 where the data originated from. If you put the HD into another PS3, it will try to reformat the drive. My old 60gig PS3 died and I have tons of game saves left in the HD. If you have a solution, let me know.

^ Apparently it's possible to do it with a Linux PC, but it isn't easy. Best thing would be to revive the old PS3 and quickly copy everything.

Backwards compatibility is coming to PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Now is only part of the story. A well-placed source working with Sony's streaming service reveals that only PlayStation 3 titles are currently scheduled to use the "gameplay over IP" cloud service. PS1 and PS2 titles are set to follow the more conventional route of running locally under emulation on Sony's latest console - but with the possibility of HD visual enhancements.

While Sony effectively phased out hardware emulation of previous platforms during the early stages of the PS3 era, it has worked consistently on opening up the PlayStation back catalogue to publishers via software emulation and PSN downloads. Internally, PlayStation 3's firmware contains emulators for PS1, PS2 and even the handheld PSP, while Vita is capable of running PS1 and Vita titles virtually flawlessly using the same technology. In short, there's a proven codebase that can only get better for the vastly more powerful PS4.

Our information suggests that the same internal emulator strategy is planned for PlayStation 4, and we understand that Sony is actively pursuing the ability for older titles to run without the blurry upscaling seen on PS3, suggesting that native HD resolutions are being targeted. Assuming this intention carries through to final code, we'll be seeing an effect similar to the resolution scaling seen on unofficial PC emulation of Sony's consoles, as well as a great many of the "HD remasters" we saw on PS3 - where original assets were rendered at a higher resolution, often without any actual remastering at all.

Sony's use of emulation as opposed to PlayStation Now streaming is an interesting decision - and the right one for enthusiast gamers. Running code locally provides a superior experience in terms of both input latency and image quality, and owing to the bandwidth requirements of continuous gameplay streaming, a single download could actually work out better economically for the platform holder. However, anything that can be run on PS3 can also operate on the PlayStation Now servers, so theoretically there is no technical reason why PS1, PS2 and PSP titles running on the existing, upscaling PS3 emulators couldn't be added to the streaming service should Sony see fit - though HD resolution scaling would most likely be off the table in those circumstances.

I've pondered getting a vita but it doesn't seem worth it. Maybe if remote play was better and I could play over wifi while I was on vacation or something it would have been worth it but for just the library of games on the vita it seems pretty 'meh'.

Perhaps if the slim version comes for a cheap price I'd reconsider.

it mirrors the PS4, so if you turn your tv on, you can see whats going on with the PS4.

PS4 automatically saves wherever you are in the game as long as you don't quit it. Even when its in suspend mode. So you can put your PS4 in suspend. Once you setup your vita, you can remotely turn on the PS4 and continue. I haven't been able to setup remote play to work outside of my own network tho. cuz my upload speed on my internet connection is just too slow.

To remote play via mobile connection, you'd need at least a steady 4G network. 3G just don't cut it.

No scratches or damage that I could see, I tried it on 2 different PS3's and deleted all the CoD4 related files with no luck. CoD4 has died down to where I can barely find a couple Team Deathmatch rounds, but not the HCTDM I love :(

PS3 is based on ancient standards like SATA1 so there's really no point unless you play games that have frequent and long loading screens like GT5
