anyone got problems with nhl2008?? first.. when it loads up and tells you the autosave feature and loading ur profile crap.. it takes like 30+ sec to load.. then sometimes.. at the end of the game.. i can't quit game.. it shows u want to quit game.. yes/no.. i can't select anything.. the game seems to still be moving as the background music etc still playing.. then if i manage to quit the game.. to load the calender screen of ur season.. it takes a while.. and then there's the occasional freezing.. i've had no problems with any other games.. no freezing etc.. the disc ain't scratched.. so i'm scratching my head.. and i don't think it's overheating either as all my other game runs just fine.. any suggestions?

i've just ran into a problem like 2 weeks ago with my ps3..
i got a new monitor that supports hdmi, so i plugged in the hdmi cable and set the video settings
and then i was installing mgs4beta and then the screen went off
i tried resetting the video settings by holding the power button until i hear the second beep
it worked, but when i turned it on the next day, i went grey and now i cant see anything
i think its the video settings problem could hear everything load and the background music and such
but i just tried it again yesterday and nothing happened, i tried the video resetting method again, but i didnt get any response from the ps3
does that video resetting method kill the ps3 or something?
anyone experienced this? what should i do?

lol don't even get me started on NHL 08.... the most bug-filled game to ever come out of the EA shithouse.

some of the issues I've been having since I first got the game back in October 2007 (almost 7 months ago):

- super long load screen when the game is booting up, the screen would basically notify me that autosave is on, then I hit ok, and it freezes for like 10 seconds or so and goes into the main menu

- i start a new online game and it'll search for new Roster update, then says there's a new update eventhough I've already downloaded it and have it loaded as well, then it'll take forever for the system to do something and I'll get disconnected from EA's server

- when I go to LOBBY, sometimes the game will simply crash and freeze on the spot and I"ll have to reboot my PS3

- after finding an opponent, picking teams, then uniforms, the game would freeze at the line-editing screen and the other person will have to quit the game because I can't press X to star the game

- at the end of EVERY single online match, I'll get disconnected from the EA server and will have to sign in again to play

lol shall I go on? Isn't this the biggest piece of shit that EA has ever put out on the market? Now that the PS3 has a bigger market share and is doing well, I honestly hope that EA can put in more effort into making the PS3 version at least on-par with the Xbox version (60fps) and fix the damn online bugs...

this is one game that I just love to hate but hate to love.

NHL 08 is very buggy

It freezes a lot and that pisses me off especially when I'm in Dynasty mode

And I dont get why my attendance is always full (I always make sure I charge enough but still enough to fill the joint) but in the end of the year report my attendance averages 11000 a year at GM place....

Metal Gear for NES was butchered down soo much, i do admit i played the version on NES and didnt know about the MSX version until about when MGS2 came out.. played it on emulation and the MSX is definitely strictly stayed true more to the story..

i skipped the last gen, and the only games i really played was the MGS series on my ps2.. didnt get back into game until this generation just because i was amaze with how much potential games are now..

i waited 4 years for MGS4, with soo much raved going on with its story telling, id say its definitely worth it...

to be honest, gameplay wise, im not too impress... its exactly the same as the past IMO..

I'm not sure if you can just connect your pc keyboard and mouse to play fps. I could be wrong though as I just got my PS3. However, another solution is the following which according to reviews is actually pretty decent.

No it's not absolutely necessary, but if you do it the video files will show up when you select the drive under the Video column instead of having to go through a bunch of menus every time you want to watch a video on that drive.

PS3 2.40 Update Removed!

After countless reports of problems across the Internet caused by the long-awaited PS3 2.40 Software Update, Sony has gone ahead and pulled the update.

Many users have been a bit befuddled, after being able to access PSN with only 2.36, however on a check of the latest available firmware, it is indeed listed as 2.36.

We can only assume that there is a major bug in the newest release. One would assume it would be detected and patched before it was rolled out en-masse, however it appears that it was not. The big question, aside from 'When is 2.40 coming back out?' is that will Sony repair consoles that this update broke without cost, or will they still insist on charging their repair fee?

Sony has so far insisted on charging users who have had a brick due to 2.40, hopefully they will change their tune!

well im playing it on xbx Live... i have both consoles and i only play online on ps3 for exclusive games, i figured im already paying online for Live, so might as well get games for the 360..

basically Bad Company took some aspects of COD4, gameplay wise and everything... although its not perfect, its still fun online.. which is almost on par with COD4's levelling system..

you only get one more though, which is Gold Rush, its Attack or Defend mode...

its really fun once you get used to the controls, the Frostbite engine creates perfect atmosphere for desctructible environments, sometimes its gets really chaotic...

IMO, i never got into the demo either until i gave it another shot for couple of hours just before i got it.., i just bought this game because i got it cheap for $30, and IMO its still worth paying $60 for it.... i never even started on single player, all iv been playing is multiplayer..

you will find yourself getting tagged and killed while spawning with team mates..

it sucks that you cant customize your controls


Triangle for ps3 i think is to knife someone, which is a little responsive compare to COD4's right analog button..

just put the files on a memory card, go to "Video" on the XMB to load them up.. works just like a computer.

there are tools online that ppl convert h264 to a format the ps3 can recognise, those would be close to blu-ray quality i believe

Nah man...Oblivion got boring real quick.

I don't mind the combat system they're using for Fallout 3 because they have real time (Oblivion style with guns) and the target system which is much more like the previous Fallout games.

I just hope the story and interaction with other characters is as good as the previous games.

and u can finally choose defence pairings on the fly.

overall the game speed feels slower in terms of skating. defensive controls feel much better now also.

the Be A Pro mode is neat.. u guys gotta try it with the camera set to "Low"

I feel you when you say that games are getting more complicated. Thats why I use classic controls playing all the nhl games. Whatever happened to using buttons for actions ? Now u have motion censors, joysticks and mutiple button pushes to do moves in certain games.

I just found out that the Guitar Hero III guitar is now compatible with Rock Band. The patch was released last week. I've tried it out and it works! Now, if there would be compatibility with the Rock Band guitar in GH3, then I'd be set.

Hasn't it always been this way? GH3 guitar has always worked with RB on Xbox. It just doesn't work the other way around.
