Can you just add CID or voicemail by itself? I need one of those on my plans

i'm sure you can get CID or VM separately.. I believe CID is $8/month. there are also value packs listed on their website for $12 - http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.por...bel=AppsAddons

1 gb should be fairly easy.. just call a couple times as it usually takes 3-5 tries..

The line is currently on a 3-yr blackberry email data plan -_- (I thought it was just an add-on but they added it to my plan for 3 years) I'm hoping they'll let me switch for data! 1gb would be great.

How decent is my plan?

300 minutes,
Unlimited evenings and weekends after 6PM,
2500 texts,
6GB LTE data,
VM, CID, CF

$55 a month. I usually get my friend who's an account manager at Rogers to renew my credits every so often.

I'm going to Asia in two weeks, so I'm trying to see if this plan could generate any interest before I hand it over to my parents (minus the data).

AVS_Racing 11-27-2012 12:38 AM

^^ I would say thats pretty good considering what robbers offered me today

I'm trying to get a plan like this! Too bad I'm already on contract :(

That's a solid plan for that price. The crazier ones you see are the same price point but 1000 mins or unlimited and unlimited text. But honestly not many people actually need unlimited.

It seems adequate..........would minus the data be -$30? That would be a great plan for $25 without the data.

BaoTurbo 11-27-2012 08:07 PM

The retentions guy offered me the 6Gb super something plan. I was like :fuckthatshit: I got 8 months left and you can't offer me anything better than that? He told me the expired 6Gb plan went to retentions after

Yes, it would be minus $30.

If anyone wants to take over my contract, please let me know. There will be two years remaining in January.

It is a corporate plan, and last time I checked, I believe it's not transferable, but with Rogers policies always changing, it could be possible now.

I am leaving in two weeks, so I would love to hook someone on RS up if it's possible, rather then giving it to my dad who doesn't need all the minutes.

EDIT: Plan is transferable with no fee. However, no phone will be included. Hit me up if you want it.

Just wait until a new awesome plan promo comes out and call them and tell them you want to switch to that one. I had a decent plan and then the 6GB SUPER PLAN came out. I got it with all the free stuff I already had and the deals I had. My current plan is:

62$ after tax and everything
----------------------------
6GB Data
300 day time min
Unlimited incoming
Unlimited after 5pm
My 10 Canada wide
Unlimited text messages
Caller ID
Voicemail

Rogers Contract Takeover - 250 Minutes/Early 6PM/2500 SMS/6GB LTE/CDVM

My plan is pretty similar, except I have 300 mins and unlimited network calling, $56.37 after tax.

Nechako87 11-29-2012 08:59 PM

Hey

If I set up a plan with Fido, but never activated the number, can I back out? Rogers offered me a competitive plan.

silvercivicdx 11-29-2012 09:58 PM

so my wife is up for early upgrade
we received an email saying she can get a new phone
with the 35 dollar fee waived and some 50 dollar gift card.

we go into rogers store, they dont have any confirmation of this email
i show the guy helping me he says that we have to call the 1866 number
and the lady on the other line says yes we can but iphone 5 is not hardware upgradable

anyone know the reason behind this?

Isnt there a 15 day/30 min talk time sort of thing that says you can cancel?

xilley 11-29-2012 10:29 PM

FUCKING ROGERS BACKORDERED MY PHONE TWICE ALREADY !

Well shes clearly bullshitting you. Call another rep to confirm. Never heard of 'not upgradeable'. That's basically telling you they don't want your business

Lomac 11-29-2012 10:46 PM

My contract with Rogers is up soon and I'm tempted to port my number over to Fido in order to take advantage of their current $57 promotion. It's cheaper than what I currently pay, and I only get the following:

200 Anytime minutes
Unlimited Early Evening (6pm start) and Weekends
Unlimited Texts
Limited VM
Call Display
Call Waiting
500mb Data

Allegedly I'm also supposed to have Visual Voicemail and WhoCalled (whoopdeedoo!), but those have never worked on my phone.

Edit: Oh, wtf... they got rid of the credit I had for the early evening calling. I was told that was supposed to last the remainder of my contract. Fuckers.

I've been eyeing that Fido plan for a whole 2 months. The fact that it's 2gb now is just icing on the cake. It's too bad it'll cost me 400+ to cancel a plan where I save marginally :okay:

In your case, assuming you've tried retentions, that Fido deal is the best deal I've seen aside from Mobo/Wind. I say go for it. I was told when inquiring about cancelling is that minimum cancellation fee is $100, and since most plans are $20/remaining month to cancel, if you're within 5 months of your end date you might as well do it now.
