That is exactly what I did. Then robbers turned around and offered me the same plan with only 1gb of data. I'm seeing if I can cancel my Fido plan now, because it will cost me 75 bucks altogether just to switch over to Fido. All I've gotten so far is the SIM card mailed to my house, so I can eat the 10 bucks

I honestly dont see how the 55 dollar plan is a crazy deal.

if they cut it to 50 taxed in then OK but 55 with 2 gig.. soso

fido has exact plan with unlimited everything and 2 gig for $57.
not to say yours is a NEGOTIATION.

you have to call the rogers 1800 number, the retail store doesnt know anything.

I got my Note 2 for $283 after tax - $50 for $233.

cancelled two lines last month, ported to Fido so my cancellations should only be $200 + tax ($100 each). Got my final bill from rogers asking for $7xx.xx.

WTF.

Called in and they said I will need to pay this and they will credit me the difference since I had a note left on the account before I ported. Only problem is that it will take up to 1 month for the credit to be put back on the account. So Rogers effectively has ~$500 of my money to spend for 1 month.

WTF.

Yeah I'm in the same pickle. Will receive a 175 credit on the phone which will be paid out over the course of a couple months.

I have 11 months left with my rogers 3 years plan.

I asked if I could do an early hardware upgrade and they waive the 11 months left cancellation fee at 15$ a month = 165$.

They said the best they could do was reducing the fee in half (~80$)

Think I can do better? I'm interested in getting the note 2 and i've been with rogers for quite a long time along with my other family members.

Do you guys think I can get the whole 11 months waived? Or maybe get a discount on the phone as well as it is nearing Christmas?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

As far as waiving the entire fee, I doubt it. As for a discount on the phone, I walked past wireless wave in metro selling a bell note 2 for 60 (3 year activation). So I guess you can bring that up and start from there.

not entirely true

i was able to get my gf early upgrade fee fully waived and she had 18 months left on her 3 contract

i demanded a manager after the retention person would only waive 50% of the fee

I got my 3GS July 2011 and in October I upgraded to the 4S and was only charged $79 for the phone; I got the early cancellation fee waived as well as got the $35 admin fee credited so yes it is possible

How much data? That looks like they matched the Fido offer, so I'm guessing you got 2gb?

I've been using the following steps and have gotten pretty good results so far.

Call rogers and let them know that you're looking into cancelling your plan and inquiring about the cancellation fee. At this point they would ask you why. You will let them know that you found a really good plan to takeover which will save you some money.
They will usually transfer you to customer service at this point.
Customer service will be asking where you found the plan and what the plan is (they will try to match it). Just make up a plan with features and price to that of your liking. Don't be too greedy and add in a bunch of features at a really cheap price, no one is going to believe that. Be reasonable. Make sure that the "new plan" will be providing you value and monthly savings. And if you're looking to get a phone, let them know that the new plan will come with a free/discounted phone too.
At this point, they would be trying to match the plan and try to get you to "stay." This will be your chance to bargain and to get a good deal out of this. Good luck

6gb data

$45 taxes included.
I have credits to my bill for a total of $35. When the credits expire, I would just have to call in and have them renew it until the end of my term. I also have 50% off of the early upgrade fee ($100 - 50%)
