we can still lock it up again then jailbreak it after they help fix our phone right?

+Kardboard+ 02-11-2008 06:22 PM

Sure, but what's the point if you can't get them to fix it for you in the first place? Unless you're actually using it in the States and activated it on AT&T...

LanEvoMR 02-11-2008 09:51 PM

why are so many ppl trying to sell their iphone now?

Gh0stRider 02-11-2008 10:26 PM

But don't you register the iphones when you go through itunes? So they can tell the first day that you used the phone, and/or by the applestore reciept. Like when I needed my ipod fixed, they went by the activation date in itunes.

+Kardboard+ 02-12-2008 10:31 AM

You don't register it because there's an activation hack used to unlock iPhones. A receipt won't help you either.

scheng924 02-12-2008 10:33 AM

hmmm.. so 1.1.3 boxed ones are unlockable now?

+Kardboard+ 02-12-2008 10:33 AM

Apparently. Some people are saying that it's working, but try at your own risk.

No, it's not gay. That's how warranties work.

Ch28 02-12-2008 02:54 PM

triplexcel 02-12-2008 03:13 PM

hey i heard the price of the iphone is being reduced by 100bux by next month..btw, i heard this on the radio.

just wondering if this is actually true

+Kardboard+ 02-12-2008 03:48 PM

Apparently to coincide with the release of the iPhone SDK later this month. I wouldn't be surprised.

Sky_2000 02-12-2008 04:44 PM

Apple's really sticking it to everyone with there pricing policies.

Ch28 02-12-2008 05:35 PM

There is suppose to be a new unlock method that is capable of changing your IMEI on the new BL 4.6. Somebody mentioned that combining that with the "iphone wap hack" means $7 unlimited internt

jing 02-12-2008 08:35 PM

Price drop?! Time to sell this thing..

IMEI changing is illegal and punishable by law.....

I heard it was illegal but how is it illegal if you switch the IMEI with another IMEI from a Rogers phone?

The point of having IMEI is so that every phone is an individual. So Network can ban your phone if you report it to be stolen. Kind of defeats the purpose if you can just switch your phone's IMEI whenever you want right?

Personnal I think Rogers should be illegal for monopolizing GSM market and offering such a stupid plan that discriminate against their own customers.

Rogers really need to catch up with the rest of the world

It's like impersonating someone else, mobile phone identity theft if you want to call it that. Same deal as SIM cloning: illegal.

Can you activate it then unlock it?

+Kardboard+ 02-13-2008 12:26 PM

Yup, you can. In that case you'll have to be an AT&T customer, and re-lock it before bringing it in to Apple.
