I think that only applies for older iPhones, as newer ones apparently have a different numbering scheme. Or something. Regardless, mine was made in week 25. ^_^

I didn't like Apollo, it was too slow. I use Microsoft Live's mobile portal.

portalsssssssssssssssssssssss, not as splashy as i like things -_- needs to be more slick looking...

+Kardboard+ 01-18-2008 11:12 AM

But it works, it's clean, and it's FAST...except that you have to refresh convos lol

Ugh, I just dropped my iPhone during my lunch break at Timmy Ho's... T.T The case saved it but there's a tiny scratch from where the case scratched the phone...noooooo

pompompanda 01-18-2008 11:41 PM

just wondering how would you know if youtube is working or not? i'm planning on buying a used iphone version 1.0.2 i tried connecting to wifi but no spots around and then when i try to use youtube it says edge has to be activated, same with the maps options also would that mean this iphone is no good anymore? the phone works, you can make calls and receive calls

but i really dont want to buy it if all i can do i just make and receive calls

thanks

dna82 01-19-2008 02:12 AM

if it's 1.0.2, upgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak and fix youtube.
hardware unlock or was it software unlocked?

pompompanda 01-19-2008 10:32 AM

yeah i was looking at her phone, this is a girl btw, and i dont think she did anything to the phone but unlock and use it, and i saw the version of the iphone in the profile and it still says 1.0.2

you think its better if i take it to a store and let me them do it? haha i dont really want to screw it up and have a itouch only afterwards

thanks

dna82 01-19-2008 09:02 PM

1.0.2 with call options unlocked? mmm
is it jailbroken?
restore it to factory settings, then upgrade 1.1.1 jailbreak it, and there is a youtube fix in the appsnapp installer.

On a side note. I'm in Hongkong right now and I can't read chinese, can someone screenshot me the characters that show the extension on all the files so I can get some custom ringtones?

I need to change the file extension for ACC converted mp3's into .m4r, the iphone ringtones format. Then just drop the file into itunes 7.4 and it will automatically get into the ringtones catagory.

problem is, im using a chinese version windows XP and I can't find the folders option to show file extensions to change them into .m4r need some chinese skills. Someone screent shot the characters, 'show file extensions' in chinese!

something I found on craigslist.
what do you guys think about it?

+Kardboard+ 01-20-2008 07:16 PM

Too pricy? I dunno. I would rather wait for the software unlock which is apparently coming real soon.

Don't know how to cut your new sim card when you go travel?
No more CUTTING your SIM card!!!
NEW Hardware UNLOCK method for IPHONE 1.1.2 OTB is avalible!
how does the hardware unlock work?
does it mean he needs to take it apart like how the kid unlocked the iphone after it first came out?

ShyGuy 01-20-2008 08:51 PM

hardware unlock is even worse than using turbosim. You have to physically open up the phone (voiding warranty).

kwanzor 01-20-2008 11:32 PM

^ unlocking already voids warrenty

You can always virginize it back and there are no physical marks left.

How do I delete all the songs off my iPhone? I took off all the stuff on iTunes and tried to sync it so it would take everything off (it used to work on my iPod Video back when I had one) but the stuff still stays on.. I'm afraid that if I do a reset on my phone it'll delete all my apps and crap too.

+Kardboard+ 01-23-2008 11:08 AM

The iPhone should be set to sync playlists, it's in the iPhone tabs after you plug the thing in within iTunes.

yumyum 01-23-2008 04:20 PM

which is better? 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 ?

threezero 01-23-2008 05:37 PM

^^^^ 1.0.2

maybe its just me but i've find this older firmware is the most stable

Technically, 1.1.3 is the best, but as of right now, I think 1.1.1 is better. I personally haven't had the instability some other 1.1.1 users here have reported, and most apps now need 1.1.1. Besides, the double-tap-the-Home-key shortcut is absolutely fabulous. :D

Ch28 01-23-2008 06:44 PM

Is there an app out there that I can install that will delete the pictures from my photo album?

I know you can do it with your camera roll but I hate how you can't do it to the rest of your photo albums

Vansterdam 01-23-2008 09:09 PM

i was thinking of upgrading to 1.1.2, my 1.1.1 gave me so many problems when i first got it, but yea recently i havent had a problem with it for awhile so im happy :D
