I really only upgraded to 1.1.1 because of the double-tap-Home-button shortcut feature. That's about it. :p

they gave me a quote on upgrading to 1.1.1 which is essentially flashing/repairing the iphone at $60 bucks

a little steep, i wouldnt pay 60 bucks just so i can double tap my home button :P

i think my iphone is dead, it wont charge and it keeps rebooting when i have it plugged in to the pc.

even when i can turn it on when its not plug in and charging, it gives me an error message saying iphone needs repair, cannot make or receive calls.

anyone know if those new ones from apple store can be unlocked yet?

Yikes...what did you do? Have you tried charging with the original Apple USB wall adapter? That thing can recover dead phones apparently.

i just plugged in to my car ipod adapter. it worked b4 but this time, it just fucked it up, the phone crashed then started rebooting, then my phone ran out of battery since i was trying to charge it in the car, and now it just keep rebooting when i connect it to the pc, if i dont connect it to the pc and turn it on, wifi and edge wont work. and the phone is just really really slow.


i've tried charging it with the wall adapter, but it also doesnt seem to charge. both my K850 and the iphone was empty and i charged both at the same time, my K850 was fully charged and the iphone wasnt even charged at all.

my iphone wont even turn on now

is there any way to reset the thing?

i'm trying to use itunes to restore to 1.1.2

but its been trying to restore for over an hour now...

Have you tried the DFU reboot? Plug it into the computer and open iTunes, then hold down the Home button and the power button until the screen goes funny (looks like there's something on the screen but there's no backlight), wait five seconds after that and release the Home button only. The computer should detect it and iTunes will ask you to restore.

i've done a lot like unlocking ootb 1.1.2 and a bunch of other things.. i'd recommend trying to restore it but using the v1.1.1 software and see if that helps... there are a few downloads for it out there...

i somehow think the battery is fucked up. i dropped it off to sin tat and have my friend see if he can fix it or have ppl know how to fix it... way too many iphone expert there now lol

Not if you bought it new as a 1.1.2. You can upgrade older firmwares to 1.1.2.
Start with looking at the phone recommendations thread and join the madness there. :p

just another question..my pc with all my mp3s and contacts is dead. hard drive failure so now i'm using my laptop which has nothing..if i plug in my iphone to itunes on here, will it erase everything? since my contacts are not synced to outlook on here?

is there a way for me to sync the contacts from my phone onto my laptops outlook?

only way to sync contacts using iphone is with a diffrent phone connected to the computer i believe.

im preety sure its 1 iphone per 1 itunes library HOWEVER download the iphone application "swaptunes" it lets you switch between 2 itune librarys so you can upload music/videos from another library/itunes
