Ouch, more 4th liners eh.

I'd rather bank my hopes with a 37 year old PPG player than a bunch of 4th line plugs...

Alatar 07-01-2008 02:50 PM

Stinkin' Leafs just signed Niklas Hagman

And Holik's back to 2.5mil/1 year. Still too much for him if you ask me. :p

well considering he's averaged a PPG his entire career, including recently, I don't see how his age is a problem when its only a 2 year deal. It's not like there is a whole lot else the Nucks can do to shore up the offense, and that is what Sundin is. Guaranteed offense.

Devils are looking better. they just picked up HOLIK for 2.5.
face off master right there. and i believe he was with the NJD
in their last stanley cup season

good pick up

Derek_N84 07-01-2008 02:55 PM

The Blues are planning to match the offer.

Come on Kristian Huselius ! We need a trigger man.

[ jay ] 07-01-2008 02:56 PM

Kyle Wellwood? hmmmmm...

411ken 07-01-2008 02:56 PM

^ I agree. There was a lot of complaints about our PP last year and I would like to see sundin here to help out.

tonyzoomzoom 07-01-2008 02:56 PM

Gillis is aiming for the 1st pick in next year's draft (and perhaps the year after that and the year after that)...

hi5-ive 07-01-2008 02:58 PM

Vancouver Canucks sign UFA forward Darcy Hordichuk to a two-year deal

hi5-ive 07-01-2008 02:59 PM

Toronto Maple Leafs sign UFA forward Niklas Hagman to a four-year contract worth $12 million

Good pick up for Maple Leafs.

Was watching the video on tsn.ca titled "Money Talks". It's a pretty good watch as you listen to Pierre rip apart all the GM's in the league for giving players ridiculous amounts of money, and how they should learn from Ken Holland and the DET staff. Pretty true and funny. I really hope we don't get Sundin for 20 mill because that's just ludacris. Mayb 6 mill a year or 7 at most.

hi5-ive 07-01-2008 03:01 PM

Rolston to Devils.

Man,
Chicago, and Tampa Bay is going nuts on Free Agents.

yeah i seen that.

Detroit actually SITS DOWN AND PLANS OUT the direction they want their team to go in, instead of getting random players.

Detroit functions as a SQAUD, other gms are just looking for a top player to be a band aid

Um...until 07/08, Hagman hadn't scored 30 or more points in a single season in his career. Yea, that's a guy worth $3 million. http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/hsugh.gif

hi5-ive 07-01-2008 03:03 PM

Also i think Maple Leafs overpaid for Jeff Finger..

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

AX.Deadpool 07-01-2008 03:07 PM

HOSSA supposedly sleeping on it. and will decide tomorrow on his offers.

411ken 07-01-2008 03:12 PM

I wonder who the penguins will get, didn't they give a bunch of their prospects to get Hossa? lol

On the NHL 2007/2008 season trade deadline day (26 February 2008), he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins along with Pascal Dupuis for Angelo Esposito, Colby Armstrong, Erik Christensen, and a 2008 1st round draft pick.

68style 07-01-2008 03:13 PM

Vancouver's always been such a lame duck, never make any splashes with signings... we've made arguably a couple of the best and worst trades ever in the history of the league but signings wise? Nada.

I hope Gillis didn't spend all his time on the phone bartering with HOSSA and in doing so let all these other role player type guys slip through his fingers... that would suck even more than signing Hossa for huge money long-term (he's not worth it, he's not a winner no matter how skilled he is).

hi5-ive 07-01-2008 03:16 PM

Minnesota Wild sign UFA forward Andrew Brunette to 3 year deal worth $7-million.

Price tag on Brunette is cheapppppppp

trip 07-01-2008 03:26 PM
