No to the reunion of the WCE. Even at a discounted price. I'm a huge Bertuzzi fan - BUT - we do not need the distraction he brings. Moore will probably try to pull another lawsuit out of his ass during the season and fuck things over.

RiceIntegraRS 07-01-2008 10:58 AM

^thats interesting.. i would of signed Huet over Theodore

Uh...it takes 2 GMs to trade and Gillis was/is getting lowballed with trade offers.

:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl: @ this comment about the Sundin signing

Quote:

If the Canucks DID land Sundin... and he took some shifts with the Sedins, Bob Cole would probably have to retire.

"Sedin to Sundin to Sedin... now Sedin's sending a pass to Sundin who drops for Sedin.... *BOOM* " (that's when Cole's head would explode.)

we live in the city of vancouver.. if its not Bertuzzi, its Naslund and if its not Naslund, its Loungo and if its not him its the Sedins. We live in the city of complainers and there will always be distractions one way or the other. And if there nothing to complain about, just rely on good ol vancouver to make something up to complain about.

UFAs aren't traded. They're no longer under contract, as of today. Their FORMER GMs don't enter the picture.

I don't think he's talking about UFAs.

winson604 07-01-2008 11:18 AM

If nothing happens today they should replay the video of Nonis saying he couldn't make any trades because of this reason and this reason. Gillis will be saying the exact same words if nothing happens today. Price was too high, didn't want to mortgage our future etc. Not so easy was it MG? Ah wells there are still plenty of time left and some free agents, Demitra, Hossa, Avery etc.. I'll wait and see

Tim Budong 07-01-2008 11:22 AM

i have a feeling avery wont make a decision until his internship at vouge is over
LOL

RiceIntegraRS 07-01-2008 11:23 AM

on the Jose Theodore signing, u should read the Capitals forums

Quote:

NOW there's something to panic about. Theodore had a decent postseason but overall has not impressed me a whole lot. Not to mention his lack of consistancy.
Quote:

With Huet I think we are legit cup contenders. With Theodore, I think we are a first round exit in the playoffs team. I would rather have Kolzig.

I'm so angry and confused right now. This is a disaster.

Wasn't Ovechkin once quoted as saying that he would play anywhere (on the ice)? Better get him suited for some goalie pads because we are going to need him

We signed the wrong former Montreal goalie!

We have always went for the big player sign hmm this will get are team better and it's never worked out. having a fast gritty young team is what it's about and thats what we need. We can't rebuild a team over summer it will take 2-4 yrs and thats what we need to do. Problem is with Lou he won't want to wait that long. Trade him get some young talent and lets look at are future not right now!!!

stuff99 07-01-2008 11:28 AM

Caps shouldve tried harder with Huet

Supposedly, Huet's family didn't like it in Washington and that was one of the main reasons why he didn't re-sign with them.

we dont neccisarily need to rebuild.
we just need a suitor for the sedins.
and another top forward, or a handful of cheap forwards that can score 20-30 goals a season.

2-4 years, we dont have... Luongo's contract = 2 seasons left. we gotta step it up.

And with the Sundin deal, its not bad in my oppinion. sundins a good player even for his age, (10 mil good? no.) but still good. and its short term, which probally means MG is thinking about going for the cup within the next 2 seasons

Who knows, maybe our draft picks will step it up this year

But we rarely see Canucks offer ___________ deal at _________.

I don't recall Gillis ever saying it would be easy either, or ever slagging Nonis' dealing. He said he didn't think the current team was good enough to win the cup, that's all. He didn't point the finger at anyone.

You'll find plenty of that in EVERY NHL city. You don't think there's a dozen teams interested in every one of the UFAs listed there? So there are, what, 7 or 8 "major" UFAs this year, and 29 teams. Not everyone can go away happy.

No but what he said was that there will be big changes! Talk is cheap unless you can deliver and if he can't he will be saying the exact same shiet Nonis said is what I mean. It wasn't like Nonis didn't try either. The prices were just too crazy .
