Looks like you spent a crapload of time on your browser. Screen on + downloading data = battery drain.

Kinda irritated with the fact that Viber app for Android still hasn't been updated for ICS. People have been complaining about this for months now and still they haven't managed to fix the problem of force closing.

Lots of apps are like this. I'm still waiting on a few like Pocket Informant.

I reserved it, but I havent heard anything yet. All it says on the site is "in progress". How long have you been reserving the device for?
Do you know how much will be the no contract price?

!MiKrofT 01-10-2012 02:23 PM

So to any looking for the absolute minimalist case I had mentioned I'd ordered a Rearth Ringke Slim case.

Rearth Samsung Galaxy Nexus SLIM Case

I just got it in the mail today and I gotta say. Fitment is amazing and the finish is literally soft touch. It snaps on perfectly, doesn't creak or flex anywhere, and covers the top and bottom of the phone perfectly. Even has USB and headphone plugs to keep dust out. Pics to come later.

I like the naked feeling of my nexus. Mikroft does it make your phone significantly fatter? and is it a metal backing?

7Ma? 01-10-2012 03:22 PM

Just got a call from Rogers store, telling me my reserved Nexus has arrived. But the no contract price is $675 plus tax????? Does anyone know if they are just BS'ing me?

It's hard thin plastic with a soft touch coating. It's barely any thicker. You can actually see the measurements on the website showing it only adds about 1mm.

Not metal backing. I ordered the matte black. The coloured ones are supposed to be plastic that's coloured with some BMW rim coating method. Metal would probably interfere with the NFC chip if you cared about that.

Hmm. On my receipt it says replacement cost is $599. No sure if that different from buying it out or replacing if its lost or broken.

Too bulky for my tastes. However if you don't mind the bulk and want more protection it's a quality case. Just make sure it fits the GSM version.

Did you just buy it out right? Or did you tell them something different? You didnt renew any contracts or anything right? I just have a feeling the guy that called me didnt know what he was talking about because I asked him numerous times how much it would be out right and he was struggling to find me an answer and at the end told me it was $675 plus tax

type-j 01-10-2012 06:19 PM

^ no I got it on contract for $159. But on the receipt it shows the replacement price being $599.99

Sorry for the crappy bb pic lol

It's going to be $99 at Telus. :)

parm104 01-10-2012 08:40 PM

I wish we were able to get certain Samsung Galaxy programs on other phones. As far as I know, we can't. Even when my SGS2 was rooted and loaded with an unofficial ROM, there was no way for me to get some stock programs like the AccuWeather Program/Widget.

Now, with my Nexus, I wish I was able to get not only that AccuWeather widget but also Samsung's Voice Command software. It was nicely integrated and pretty useful.

Anyone seen/been able to install any of these said apps/widgets on other phones?

R5x 01-10-2012 09:31 PM

I can confirm it's available as of today as well. No contract price is $599. I bought one from fido kiosk at Richmond center for my gf. They had 10 of them. Such a nicely designed phone.

why the fuck is rogers still charging $160 when telus has it for $100?

Bell had the right to ask for $160 because they didn't come 5 weeks later...:suspicious:
