Phone's been perfect since I got it. On Rogers. I did have it switch network names on me a few times but still remained connected to Rogers.

patent facelock :fuckthatshit:

I've been using face unlock for my laptop for years now...
if the patent is successful then I have lost faith in this mad world...

Anyone else have issues with this?

On Fido.

Actually I noticed today after you mentioning it that I lost signal. Only for a few seconds and then it came back. I did have an international radio flashed on it instead of the North American one. Currently back on ugkl1. Was on xxkk6 earlier today. Dunno if you've flashed the radio previously.

CP.AR 01-02-2012 09:26 PM

I kept dropping when I was on the international modem (I'm on a bell device)
flash the bell modem back and not a hiccup since.

Xxkg6 gives awesome battery life. Too bad.

Such a sick phone, the camera is a turnoff though, dont know why they couldnt match the s2. Anything otherwise its quite a improvement. Btw if anyone is looking to buy one out but cant find one, pm me im selling my gf's because its way too big for her puny hands LOL

CP.AR 01-03-2012 11:48 AM

The Camera quality is not on par with SGS2... but as i've been saying after the N95 came out - 5MP on a mobile device is all I would ever need. If I want nice pictures I'll pull our my DSLR...

That being said, the 5MP on the GNex is the best 5MP cellphone camera i've seen...

Lol. I thought they didn't make the camera the same as a gs2 because they didn't want to cannibalize the sale of their own product.

Rogers/Fido releasing it Jan 10 (next Tuesday)

hopefully it's cheaper for coming out a month later..$120 sounds reasonable.

it's going to be a long week :alone:

Although specs to specs the Nexus has an inferior camera; I would much rather have a 5MP camera that works as quick and efficient as the Nexus than I would an 8MP camera that is slower.

The difference in picture quality is hardly noticeable but the shutter lag definitely is. The only time I've had a hard time taking pictures on the Nexus have been at night, or in dark places like the aquarium.

EmOne 01-03-2012 10:03 PM

are there any store that sells quality screen protectors like xo, ghost armor etc and cases locally?

My sellin point for a nexus over s2 is resolution. Higher res trumps all.

Don't think so. I have 2 screen protectors on the way. XO and Martin Fields. As well as the Rearth Ringke slim case. I'll probably end up selling my Martin Fields one later on if anyone is still looking.

Be careful the case that you buy. The LTE and HSPDA are different thicknesses and manufacturers usually make for one or the other. The casemate barely there and inicpio feather are too loose on our phones.

I am aware of the different sizes, thanks for the heads up
I might go with the ghost armor combo

I just received a HK Galaxy Nexus, but I'm having trouble detecting the 3G network. I have never played with an Android before, so I don't know there is settings that I didn't turn on. I can make calls, but I can't go on internet, and WiFi works too.

it says I'm roaming :( How can I be roaming???

So I just set to allow roaming data, and now data works. But I'm still confused as in why does think it's roaming, and would I be charge for roaming usage?

turn off roaming and see if it connects to 3g?

Actually turned on allow data roaming and it worked.

I called Fido and they actually said it's something with the tower when Rogers bought Fido (didn't quite undestand what he meant), but he said it's fine even if my phone said I'm roaming, as long as I'm in Vancouver.

CP.AR 01-04-2012 04:02 PM

Yes, Fido puts a roaming on ALL PHONES THAT ARENT FIDO

I don't know why

!MiKrofT 01-04-2012 04:50 PM

You can also try flashing some different radios to see if it'll make a difference.

I know on my wife's galaxy s certain radio's would not have the roaming mode.

But I had a iPhone 3G (from Apple store) and it didn't have that problem, that's why I thought it was weird.
