^ I tweaked a neck muscle doing shrugs the other month, was bad for a week I couldn't turn my head right or left...
And it still isn't right, feels like it just never settled back into place. It still hurts when I turn the wrong way like I can feel it isn't in the right place best way I could describe it.

what would you recommend I do ?

it's one of the Scalene fckers here on the right side, possibly the Levator

Mirin sickening posterior scalene muscles bro. Solid thick tight. Keep up the good work and report back with progress pics. Stay safe.

This is why I always stretch out my neck before doing shrugs which I rarely even do. I'd get that checked out by a physio. Don't want to fuck up your neck anymore that it already is.

Is anyone interested in doing the powerlifting competition in february. I wanna learn everything I need to know to compete and wouldnt mind a training partner :alone:

xilley 11-29-2012 02:14 AM

I would probably go for the 74kg weight class. Squat was around 375, bench 250 for 4, and deadlifts are somewhere around 385. Pretty sure your lifts dominate mine lol. I'm in east van, but train at shitcentral in richmond

J.C 11-29-2012 02:00 PM

Is it the bcpa competition?
Me and a friend are doing it
I think instant is coming too

yep. You guys have coaches or are you just going to try it on your own

J.C 11-29-2012 02:22 PM

doing it solo. but were going to the seminar in 2 days and gabe's giving us a ride so hopefully we'll get some good tips off him

The_Situation 11-29-2012 02:55 PM

Oh yeah I wanted to go to that seminar, but I have finals :(. All the guys competing here should all meet up for a training sesh

Sid Vicious 11-29-2012 04:49 PM

yea i workout at richmond sports club u guys shuld drop by

powerlifting isnt too technique heavy of a competition so u guys shuld still be okay without any special coaching or anything

as long as u have a solid structured program you're good

I could see how people would think he doesn't know what hes doing, or he's crazy.

But if I had to take an educated guess, he is implementing a hand grip technique used in Judo. Stimulating the grip style and speed in the gym, this helps in real life.

Don't judge too fast.

not sure if srs, but go work on that in the dojo. This is the gym, where people actually working out can get injured from retards like that.

Reminds me of this guy who does laps around the weight room while shadow boxing in the gym, then he takes a break to do dumbbell curls.

My mind is full of fuck. There's a time and place for everything, if you wanna practice that at least do it away from everyone else.

My gym has a kickboxer/mma guy who lifts there. Every couple minutes he will run from one end of the gym to the other throwing punch and kick combos like crazy. Spinning head kicks and all kindsa shit. I cant stand that shit

Sid Vicious 11-30-2012 04:21 PM

cable machines are beyond useless.

i dont know why gyms bother with shit like smith machines or cable machines,
