Wow I've gotten some really stingy reps... I ask to match a Wind plan or get a little more data for what I'm paying now. I keep getting $400 cancellation fee.

Same with the gf who is trying to match a Fido student plan even though it should be $100 to port over to Fido.

When did you last sign a contract? If it was within the last year, good luck getting them to waive the $400 cancellation fee. Also, you should've done your negotiation then.

16 months left just called and asked if they could do anything for me

200.99 -50 credit( s3 32gig) , waved my upgrade fee down to 79.99, + 35 service fee

still about 260, should i do this, or should i ask how much it is to cancel to see if they can do anything

I phoned in earlier today.
My 3 years was up half a year ago (didn't know lol) and they wouldn't budge.
Called and talked to 3 different reps and the best they could do was give me the $55 promotional plan as long as I upgraded new phone.

You guys really suck at bargaining.

1) Don't mention wind because totally different type of service. This is most likely why they don't budge at all.
2) if your already in contract they won't budge, it is possible to switch to a better plan in the market.
3) Fido to rogers port is free, conditions are, line as to be active in that name for 1 year. Switch his to rogers in the same name. HOWEVER you have to ask politely.


When I was with fido I was paying 50 tax in for 6gb and decent voice plan.

I ported over to rogers business for free (2 lines) got 2 phones. The plan was about 80 tax in for both lines. 2 months later I got the plan to about 70 tax in with a fuck load of minutes and 6 gb data.

1200 minutes shared (500 + 100 bonus each line)
Unlimited incoming
CID VM basic ones
my 10 unlimited txt
6gb data

70 tax in or 72 ish

Do not threaten to cancel unless you really are prepared. I had my mind set to cancel and port over to wind. I didnt bother asking them to match.

I just told the retention, what is my cancellation fee, I would like to cancel at the end of my contract, please submit my 30days of notice.. He ask why?, and if there is anything he can do, I said " you cant, i called many times, no agent can help.".... blah blah.. in the end, they renewed all my credits and gave me an S3 for 35$.

it SHOULD be $100 to port it over, you just have to get them to note it on your account.

Do they offer unlocking now same as Telus? Use the phone for 3 months and pay $50 to unlock.

Last time I walked into a Rogers store to ask about unlocking my IP4S that I purchased on contract 1 year ago, they told me they cannot unlock it until the contract is over. Or if you decide to buy it out. And you have to pay $50. Telus' unlock policy is better.

Not quite a retention thread but don't wanna make a new thread and I'm getting quite pissed..

I bought an LTE sim card a week ago, and they accidentally activated it with my brother's account. I let that go, no big deal I'll just buy a new one (they credited me for the cost of a new one).

1st call: CSR said she couldn't activate my number with the new (2nd one) sim card for some reason. She said to try calling again later.

2nd call: CSR said it's activated, wait about 10 minutes then restart my phone. Same story, the bloody thing is not activated so I call back about 2 hours later.

3rd call: CSR said something went wrong, didn't tell me why and at the time I didn't bother asking and he said it should be functional in about 5 minutes. Surprise surprise, still not activated.

4th call: CSR said the 3rd CSR didn't even save the sim card number or something like that, basically saying they messed up. When she tried to activate it, she ran into a problem as well and she told me she'd send it to the higher ups and it SHOULD be done WITHIN 24 hours. 24+ hours has gone by and decided to call and see what's up.

5th call: CSR said they're working on it, should be done by the next day. What do you know, the same godamn result.

6th call: I'm told that higher ups are back logged, should be done by today the latest.

I'm getting quite frustrated, all I want is to get fucking LTE working on my phone. I think I've played the nice guy card for too long, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till tomorrow. If shit doesn't get done, any suggestions on what I should do? I've been given inconsistent answers and it's getting on my nerves. Wasted so much time already just to get this stupid LTE sim card activated and Rogers keeps giving me the run around.

not sure how helpful this would be, but you can try following their complaint steps here https://www.rogers.com/web/content/contactus

yeah.. it's the whole crappy escalations process, but im sure it might even get solved before you get to that final step. they definitely dropped the ball on you and you should be in for some compensation, especially since you've been very patient about it.

if you have the interaction IDs of your conversations, it would really help too.

Fuck these cunts. I contacted customer care (live chat) saying my concerns. She then transferred me to technical support because apparently they don't deal with that shit. Turns out she sent me to people who deal with hardware/software issues, not accounts. Back to step one I go. A few messages were exchanged, I finally ask him how long it's suppose to fucking take and threatened to leave for another carrier. I did say I wanted some sort of compensation but I feel that I'm entitled to it for all the bullshit I've been going through. He tells me 3-5 days - as I'm typing a disappointing yet calm message, this fucking idiot ends the session before I could even send it. Un-fucking-believable.

This exact situation happened to me when I moved over from regular sim to microsim. Their system was backlogged and I was without a phone for 2 days. They kept telling me.. in 4 hours, in 11 hours, within the next 24 hrs...

I ended up getting $10 credit for that month and surprisingly it looks like a permanent credit hahah.

Call in to complain ask the rep's full name and their ID and tell them you are going to compain to CRTC. Also go to a rogers store and deman them to fix it when they have new potential customer there:fullofwin:

How come you guys have so much problems with changing a sim card? do you guys call the CSR to do it for you? Do you know you can do it yourself?

Log in to rogers.com and you will see this:

Click the "Change Sim Card" link and follow the instructions.

I used this feature twice and my sim card was changed in less than 2 minutes for both times.
