She said she will be noting this on my file as how she offered me the plan and I did not accept it.

also tried to see if she could help me with the HUP to Note2, last upgrade was Sept 2010.
she said $143 EUF, she can't do anything about that for me...WOW!

I spoke to 3 retention reps last week and all 3 offered the same plan at the same price point and offered the same reason. I would also rate the 3 reps as 3 entirely different reps. One was super nice and helpful and really gave awesome customer service, one was neither good or bad, and one was kind of a bitch.

Again their reasoning was basically the 6gb plan is a $60 plan which is already a discounted plan to begin with. Try walking into a store and get a 6gb plan and see how much you would pay. So they can't offer a credit on a discounted plan. They can only offer a credit on the Add on being Caller ID/VM.

All 3 did however say they could waive 75% of the Early Upgrade Fee (Mine was at $182 + $35 admin). If I had called on Monday of last week or before it would have been 100% waived because they had a promo but I was a couple days late.

My last upgrade was also Sept 2010. I know they can do better than this but they won't budge at all. I got a super nice rep on the phone in Upgrade Department but she said my plan is already too good for even retentions to budge it.

I'm basically paying just under $50

+$15 credit

If they bumped me to exactly $60 after tax for 1GB data I'll probably sign a new contract with them but they aren't budging at all.

wow. i had the 6g super plan before i left rogers. it was 54 before taxes

i got off the phone with rogers a while ago.

I was going to switch to bell with the promotion at visions for S3 for 0$ and 100 gift card$. I phoned rogers cancellation department, and they offered me the same promotion. My contract does not end till next yr dec. They waived EUP, and admin for me.

Then I opted for the standard 65$ plan, and they gave me free caller ID etc.

That's all I got, but I think I could've gotten more.

Yes, I called last weekend and did HUP. They reduced my HUP by 75% and as for the phone itself it was $209.99 - $50 rebate. Yesterday on the Rogers website it was $79.99 for 3 years so I called to ask about price protection and luckily their systems were down all day. Looked on web today and it was $0 because of Black Friday Promo, called and they adjusted my bill to match the sale. Now to wait for the bill to see if everything went ok.

Always a shitty feeling seeing that you paid for something and not even a week later the price goes down that much. Luckily they did the honorable thing and adjusted it. If they said no I would have probably refunded the phone via the Buyers Remorse policy then bought it again.

rogers upgrade policy is every 30 months, if i recall...... u wouldnt have needed to pay a early upgrade fee if u could wait another 2 months.

Read from other cell phone forums they said the 6GB plan is already a super promotion plan and all the reps cannot apply any additional credits, HUP.

YMMV maybe try to call again and see?

unlimited calls after 6pm
caller id
1gb shared data

im paying 140 ish after taxes
telus was offering me alot more for about 15 more after taxes
rogers would let me speak to retention(or loyalty) department
and would ignore any reason to why i couldnt speak to them.
any customer service rep ive talked to either have been a real dick or completely useless and try to add more shit to my plan.

Ive been with robbers for more than 15 years with the same number and they only recognize that ive been with the company since 2008???? wtf

Can any posters tell us how you got 75% off the early upgrade fee - i.e how many months left on your contract and what did you orginally signed for?

I have completed 22/36 month contract and Robbers is only offering a $100 discount off the early upgrade fee.

Also I'm pretty mad that I've been having to pay for the Systems Access Fee + 911 fee for the same 22 months (WTF is this!!!!!!!)

I'm assuming this is 2 lines - i.e 1 couple in a family?

If so it's $140 for 2 lines.

The problem I see for this plan is that they can't apply as many discount credits on the separate components.

Rogers usually break it down as follows:
Voice Plan
Data Plan
Voice Mail
Extras (LD, Rogers Network Calling, Unlimited Incoming, Etc)

If you get credits for each, which is what the retentions department do then you can potentially bring each line to $50-60 and get the services you want.

Your best bet is to call Rogers retention to see what they can offer you.

Yeah it's like that YMMV pending on who calls, what rep you get, time of day, the original plan you had -etc

I realize I'm beating a dead horse here, but this is kind of one of the main reasons I jumped ship from Rogers. It's one thing for people to call retentions and get better deals just because they know (or want to cancel), but it's quite another thing to have absolutely no apparent consistency or standards. 7-year customer paying $80/mo, and when I had three lines (me, gf, family friend staying in the country), they still wouldn't cut me a break.

I won't get LTE for a couple years, but I can live with that for a good deal on my bill and a company that doesn't do its best to walk all over me.

I just asked man, I had 14 months left on my contract. Simply called in and said i wanted a new phone is there anything you can do to help out on the HUP. Said she can only give 75% off max. It would have been 100% because they were having a promo via retention but I missed it by a couple days.

Just did an HUP for a 16GB S3.

Waived the $156 upgrade fee + $35 admin fee but had to pay $89 for the phone.
I brought up the black friday promo but CSR said if they gave me the phone free they wouldn't be able to waive the upgrade fees.

Also getting a $50 Shopping Channel gift card.

Also confirmed my plan would stay intact and all my credits would be renewed. Definitely gotta keep an eye on the upcoming bills.
