so i just got a iphone. all my contacts were stored on my SIM but when i put the sim into the iphone it dosent detect all my contacts any help?

man this is pissing me off. i still cant go online at home with the WIFI, my router is detecting and enabling it to access everything, the phone itself can detect my network and hte password is right and all but it still cant go on the internet wtf?

It can't detect SIM contacts. As for your WiFi problem, maybe try another WiFi hotspot? Doesn't sound like your iPhone likes WiFi though...:(

Yeah, I iPhone is messed up like that, haha. Took me atleast 1.5-2 hours to find sources and figure this problem out, hahah.

Firstly, you'll need to sync your contact from your phone/simcard onto your computer - Microsoft Outlook.

I used Funambol to sync my contacts from my computer onto my phone wirelessly (So.. you'll need to fix your wifi problem :p)

You'll also need Funambol installed onto your iPhone (Your phone must be jailbreaked to install it)

You don't need Funambol to sync contacts, as iTunes does Outlook >> iPhone just fine, but wireless sync is très cool. :)

How to get your contacts on to an iPhone is that you'll have to copy the SIM contacts from the SIM to your old phone and sync your old phone to your Outlook. Of course, that's assuming you have Outlook and your old phone can sync to your computer. :D

i have no idea how this happened but while i was sleeping over at a buddies place * i tried my iphone on his wifi and it worked and all* but while i was sleeping i got a message from fido saying my iphone has a virus please contact fido.. WTF? after that my phone was like blinking or so i think. then it just DIED and wouldent turn on. i dont no if it was cuz the battery was dead or not but man it was so late and i was so tired i diden't care. i just woke up and charged the phone and it works again..

anyone encouter the same thing? should i call fido?

to add to this weirdness. about 5 mins after posting that i got a phone call from a 1 905 XXX XXXX number saying they found a blue samsung bell phone somewhere and the number listed " home" as my cell phone number.. i was like.. . what area do you live in? they said brenton. i was like uh... i live in vancouver bc canada. either you got the wrong number or the wrong area code.

GreenMachine, you'll likely have to wait a little while before an unlock is out for an out-of-the-box 1.1.2 iPhone, as none exist as of right now.

i don't know if it actually works but supposely what it does it it turns your simcard to make it think that its actually a AT&T sim.(well the post i originally saw, seems like its already down)

theres plenty of guides to downgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 but none vice-versa? WTF the noly guide that teaches me is for MAC -__-

I was at the Alderwood Apple Store on Friday, they had a whole bunch of WK44 iphones which are 1.1.1. WK45+ are 1.1.2. I'm thinking they are either very close to running out of 1.1.1's, or they are out by now. Check the serial number before buying.

took me 1.5 hours to upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 unlocked and jailbroken :) woot ! it feels great. the guide on modmyifone is great and all... but it fucken SUCKS BALLS for us PC users. ill post some stuff i had trouble with tommorow for easier updates :D

There are plenty of PC guides there, but it's not under the "Guides" section for some dumb reason, but in the forums under the "Unlocking" section.
