Srlsy? I see waaaayyy too many of them. And waaayyy too many people trying to show them off like they're hot shit.

+Kardboard+ 11-18-2007 09:12 PM

I do see them around, but they're all stock, or at least in appearance. :D Besides, I bet most of those people won't be able to do nearly as much as us here can do with our iPhones! The current lack of really really useful 3rd party apps aside, there's already a lot of extensibility added to the thing. I'm keeping mine for the long run, as it has a LOT of potential.

I hope you are right Kardboard, cause i'm about to switch over to a Nokia n95.

I was at Metrotown for a couple hours last week and within that small time I saw like 4-5 people with it.

I just saw another guy with it last night at the arcade. A bunch of people have it at SFU too.

And yeah, I agree with Alphamale. All the iPhone owners I've seen around are all pretentious shits.

wow you really must be observant. so far i've only seen one in Richmond, but then again he was really putting it out there and showing he has an iPhone. At quick glance i could easy mistake the iphone with the itouch or even some other black berry type phone. Good eye jing

kwanzor 11-22-2007 09:59 AM

maybe there not showing it off but tryin to find Free WiFi lol thats what i do..

Vansterdam 11-22-2007 12:01 PM

hey guys what does jailbreak mean?

+Kardboard+ 11-22-2007 12:12 PM

iPhones come out of the factory locked in two ways, one to the AT&T cell network in the states (or for the European iPhones, their European carriers), and also the flash memory is locked. You are not able to write to the memory to install system hacks, apps, and stuff until you jailbreak it. It's easy as pie to do nowadays.

jing 11-22-2007 12:27 PM

Is it still possible to upgrade to 1.11 now that 1.12 is out?

+Kardboard+ 11-22-2007 12:29 PM

Yup, it is. You just don't press "Update" in iTunes heh, but rather enter DFU mode in your phone and manually choosing the 1.1.1 firmware file (which you obviously have to manually download).

LsquareD 11-22-2007 12:41 PM

anyone have a guide/link to SSH into my iPhone? =T

I tried download iPhoneBrowser but i keep getting errors.

kwanzor 11-22-2007 12:46 PM

no_clue 11-22-2007 01:42 PM

since the iphone is quad-band, does it have good reception inside buildings?

+Kardboard+ 11-22-2007 01:48 PM

So far so good. :)

VinH 11-22-2007 01:58 PM

What are the chances of walking in to an Apple store, say, next week and picking up an OTB 1.1.1 iPhone with the old bootloader?

As far as I know, currently OTB 1.1.2 iPhones can be activated, jailbroken, but CANNOT be unlocked, which would end up be an iPod Touch if I were to bring back to Canada. Is this correct?

I should have jumped on the bandwagon earlier... doh! Haha!

kwanzor 11-22-2007 03:08 PM

^ i got a unlocked 1.1.1 if u want new sitting @ home... pm me if u want i can even upgrade it to 1.1.2 unlocked etc

hey guys how do you know what week/production your phone is in? and also what week/production was when they fixed all the iphones problem from before?

+Kardboard+ 11-22-2007 11:41 PM

The week/production numbers are derived from the serial number, but it seems like the newere iPhones (1.1.1 on) have a different scheme, so I don't think it can really be figured out anymore. I'm not sure what you mean by fixed problems? What problems?
