Does anyone know if you buy from the Apple webstore do you have to activate with AT&T ? |
You don't have to activate it with AT&T. |
you can by pass the activation thru programs ~ lol i've downgraded my iphone from 1.1.1 back to 1.0.2 ~ so rite now i'm using a hybrid ~ 1.0.2fw with 1.1.1 baseband ~ i've managed to change the signal bar, the wifi bar, the battery charging indicator and changed the carrier text to a logo of my choice ~ i'm still trying to figure out how to change the slide to unlock bar text though ~ |
Use Customize. Mine says "OMGWTFBBQ" hahahaha It's under "SpringBoard strings". |
customize to change the slide bar? |
Yup. That app has options up the wazoo. Just poke around with it. |
How do you buy from the apple store? It only says country US, i have a shipping address for the US, but i want to use my Canadian billing address. |
See a few pages back for details. Like I said before, you can't have it shipped directly to Canada, but you can have it shipped to Point Roberts in the US as there are some shipping services like that. Then you go down there, cross the border, and pick it up. |
where do you put the files for the customize app? do you have to rename the files? |
var/root/Library/Customizer/ This will also help in regards to the filenames: http://www.modmyiphone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8973 Just in case people wanted to see the size difference between a naked iPhone and one with my case...and yes, my "slide to unlock" is now "OMGWTFBBQ"...:D:D http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/9413/imgp5216eu4.jpg http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2978/imgp5218my9.jpg http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4350/imgp5223qe5.jpg |
DOMO KUN! |
pics of the back of the case? does it have a clip? |
Clip comes with the package, but you have the choice to attach it or leave it off (like I). Pics of the back are a few pages back here: http://www.revscene.net/forums//show...12#post5512653 Quote:

I got my carbon fiber theme via modmyiphone.. it is not in the installer i think, since it was a file which i uploaded via winSCP. I am really skeptical as to the need of the case/screen protector.. It seem the touch pad is pretty dam durable since one day i left my keys and iphone together in my pocket, and i did not see any scratches at all.. + the case makes it more bulky.. |
anyone finding the headphone jack + headphones a pain in the ass. I was expecting apple to give a better headphones for a 400+ dollar unit, but instead it just used the regular ipod ear sets with a microphone.... they should have included the in-ear buds instead since everytime i try to press on the mic button, the earpiece will come off. Also, the headphone outlet hole is freaken small.. sometimes I want to use my higher end headphones which has a bigger jack plug, and i am unable to plug it into my iphone... |
That headphone jack issue has been a big thing since it first came out. You gotta use an adapter to use most headphones, which IMHO is utterly retarded. |
ya i could use an extention adapter, but that would look retarded with the phone. has anyone tried the navizon gps program? I can't seem to get it to work.... i know my friends down in T.Dot have the program working, but donno if anyone hear is GVRD has navizon working. |
It's just another attempt for Apple to take more money from us. The person that decided on the headphone jack should be fucking shot |
In a move that's sure to win the company the support of consumer advocates, Apple Inc. has imposed limits on who can buy their hot iPhone, and how they can pay for it. The limitations are intended to keep resellers from buying up all the iPhones and either unlocking them or inflating the price. The policy isn't entirely new, as the previous limit was five iPhones per person, although any form of payment was accepted. By refusing cash payments now, Apple hopes to be able to keep track of who buys iPhones via debit and credit card records. Apple's popular iPhone has sold over 1.4 million units, reports Yahoo! News, and sales for the holidays are expected to be high as well. Apple estimates that of the 1.4 million units sold so far, about 250,000 were purchased with the intent to unlock them, as our own Luke McKinney reported last week. And that's just counting the SIM unlocks. If you count software-unlocked phones that can run third-party applications, the number is nearly double that. In response to the crackers, Apple sent out updated firmware that temporarily disabled some phones. That move angered consumers and advocates alike, and resulted in a number of lawsuits. This most recent move, although also aimed at curbing those who would unlock their phones, is done in a manner that will inconvenience those profiting from the unlocking and not the individual users with unlocked phones |
^ Not a bad idea |
