If every fan was to just keep quiet despite the team playing poorly, then they'll continue to play poorly as noone has come out to saying anything. Feedback leads to improvement, but I guess some of the ways fans express themselves can be pretty harsh. However, once again, if you're making 6 million bucks a season (compare this to 100 g's doctors make to save lifes), then you better be able to handle all the criticisms from the fans.

The main problem I find with hockey is that it's a sport that not everyone can play, but its a sport that anyone can watch. And the funny thing is, its those non-hockey players-but hockey fans are the most vocal and the most convinced that they know the key to hockey success.

meh, i find that argument to be irrelevent, or the one people who cant afford to go to the games use. [not saying u cant]

u sit there. fork over large amouts of money for what is now a boring ass product that dosent win. and it seems like theyre "rebuilding" every 3 god dam years. it gets very tiring.

i went to 12 games last year and it got so freaking boring that unless theres a massive change i dont see myself fighting the traffic of cars and people to see them.

Um, don't they still have both Garon AND Roloson?

They do but neither Rolson nor Garon stepped up as the number one goalie last season. Garon had a decent season going but that ended when he got injured and Roloson was hot and cold for most of the season but looked pretty good when the Oilers went on that late run to try to get into the post season.

Camallerri with Iginla is going to be a deadly combo..

if anything imo teams around us are still much better, and have improved more with proven talent then we have.

have you seen camallerri play? can't play a lick of defence. they lost tanguay, huselius, nolan and gained bert and cammalleri. thats no upgrade

punkwax 07-13-2008 08:14 AM

If anyone can spark Bert up it'd be a player like Iginla. All of the Western Canadian teams have gone through some interesting changes.

I can't wait for the new season to begin.

Naslund hasn't really played the same since he was hit by Moore.

im not sure if its older or younger brother, i'd asume older because he plays in the ASHL alongside our team which is mostly 20 year olds and older

alot of the teams in our DIV know of him, and dont like him.

whats funnier is the cap hit will be the same when he's 40

goo3 07-14-2008 02:27 AM

LOL, but when he's 40 the salary cap will be like 100 million. Plus he can be bought out.

Wouldn't be smart because the Lightening will still be stuck with his $7.xM/season cap hit

goo3 07-14-2008 02:33 AM

^forgot the rule, but cap hit is cut in half and spread out over more yrs ?

Chouinard's cap hit is 300k but his salary was 1M

Ronin 07-14-2008 04:25 AM

Remaining salary spread over double the years. So if his salary is $1m, then it's $500k over two years.
