YES called back again and got my credits back!! $56 in credits!!

and ooh so rogers did fix my plan..

i have a choice btw

300 min
unlimited after 9
network calling
unlimited incoming
500mb data
$10 retention value pack

OR
200 min daytime
unlimited after 6pm
unlimited incoming
network calling
500mb data
$10 retentions value pack

= $48.12 tax in...

any input with which is the better plan?...i opted for the 200min 6 pm evenings instead of the 300 mins 9pm evenings

CRS 12-23-2009 05:45 PM

Plan B for sure.

100 extra mins does not equate to all the time you can talk between 6PM to 9PM.

Going to try for your plan or wasabisashimi's soon :)

Did you manage to get a better plan? AppleSugary's plan is so damn good :(

cctw 01-05-2010 11:01 PM

i find that everytime they make a big mistake on your bill you call in to fix it and haggle them for a bit and they'll give you credits to compensate you lol (in addition to the wrongfully charged amount)...thats how i got credits accumulated

Sick plan, exactly what I'd want. Can you post the credits and exact break down?

What'd you say or ask to get that? damn!

cctw 01-06-2010 12:02 AM

$50 smartphone plan w/ network calling
-$15 monthly plan credit
-$5 monthly plan credit
$10 unlimited incoming
-$10 unlimited incoming feature credit
$10 retentions value pack

I think the 100 bonus mins doesnt cost $ on the bill..not sure about the 6pm evenings yet as I havent gotten the bill after I've made the change.

Total is $40 + GRRF + taxes = $48.12

I originally had the $20 plan credits from my old retention plan..and got offered free unlimited incoming + 100 bonus mins for renewing cos I said I wanted network calling and more weekday mins...then I asked if I could switch to $50 smartphone plan instead and keep all credits plus offers and the rep did it for me...except I had to choose betwween bonus minutes or early evenings. Saved me about $9 tax in as original retention with data would've cost $57.xx.

Do you really plan on using that much daytime and LD?

It seems a little steep IMHO.

ikieininiyi 01-27-2010 09:59 AM

$101 was what i paid for my original plan *couple of post up*, then i called and got $20 credit. Bill was down to $74. Now that i've gotten a new job i will be out of the local calling zone, so i will be needing ld minutes. So i called yesterday and got that plan. I rather pay a little more to be safe then have a wack loads of charges for over usage and LD min. AND! its my only phone/number.

andy_bee 01-28-2010 05:46 PM

so long story, cut short. Wife has LG Shine which we bough around August. Absolutely useless and it wont connect to Bluetooth headset (tried quite a few - and its a known problem).

Phoned Rogers tonight, explained and they advised an upgrade would have to be an approved 'exception', so a Manager is going to call tomorrow.

She now wants an iphone. We have been with Rogers for 5 years and with some trips away last year, our average bill is a couple of hundred some months.

What are my chances? Anything I should say, other than we would leave (which I am prepared to do once the buy-out costs become manageable. We dont want a new/repaired Shine

Vansterdam 02-08-2010 09:21 AM

is fido charging for INCOMING TEXTS as well ? it always say i go over my texts and i swear i dont text more hten 30-40 a month but says i do 100+ WTF

GLOW 02-10-2010 01:40 PM

when rogers locks you in to renew a contract with better rates, does it always have to be for 3 years? or can they give you a contract that is less attractive if it was say for 1 or 2 years? my wife called in and they said they only give 3 year contract renewals.

CRS 02-10-2010 04:58 PM

Called again today.. Well called more than once :p

350 day time
Unlimited evenings and weekend (5PM to 7AM)
Rogers to rogers
Call Display
Voicemail
500 sent text/unlimited receiving

22.70 taxes and fees included

I tried to push for network calling but no luck. Oh well, I'm happy. Though MelonBoy has a way more kickass plan than this. Signed on for another 3 years.

ShyGuy 02-10-2010 07:20 PM

Still on my same plan, but I got a early upgrade to a Bold 9700. So that makes 3 phones in 2 years (Iphone, Bold, Bold 2). I also got them to waive the ECF.

Currently paying about $49 tax in for 700 Minutes, Unlimited Network/Incoming/Evenings, 2500TXT, 6GB Data, and the other smaller stuff. Used to have the early evenings at 6pm but I asked them to take that off and saved another $5 a month.

WTF? That is an unreal plan. I finally took a new plan offer this past September. I didn't get the greatest plan but it was good enough at the time, now, I'm not so sure.

I got 400 minutes, unlimited evening and weekends at 8, unlimited incoming, 2500 text messages, caller id, enhanced voicemail, and 500mb data for $53 tax in. That price is after $30 in credits per month. I don't know, I think I could have pushed for way more.

CRS 02-11-2010 08:49 AM

I was offered 500mb of data for an extra $20 but probably could have gotten some more things out of the plan.

gilly 02-22-2010 02:00 PM

when u call the rogers line, the computer talks to you. where should i go for retentions? general?

racerman88 02-22-2010 07:43 PM

say you want to cancel your plan then you will be forwarded to a CS rep.

cctw 02-22-2010 08:43 PM

^actually no..you still get transferred to a regular cs rep....you have to ask to be transferred to retentions department and you'd better have a reasonable reason

gilly 02-23-2010 02:37 AM

I called in Rogers retentions today and got this plan.

-250 daytime minutes
-Unlimited @8pm weekdays
-Unlimited weekends
-Unlimited Rogers to Rogers network calling
-500 mb data
-2500 text msgs
-caller ID
-voicemail
-No SAF and 911 charge

Total of $52.58.

For those who are wanting to call in rogers retentions, here is how I did it. My plan before the retentions was $45 unlimited network calling with 125 txt msgs/callerid/voicmail and is on its 2nd year of a 3 year contract. I wanted to add data and increase my text messages. I called in the rogers line 1-888-Rogers-1. An automated computer will talk to you and I said to speak to a representative and the topic "general". I told the rep my situation saying that I wanted to add data to my current plan and I am debating whether I should stick with rogers and renew my plan or go to a different carrier. The rep then tried to give me a new plan by adding $25 bucks to my current plan which came to a ridiculous price of $70 or something. I tried to ask if it can go cheaper but the rep didn't budge. Therefore, I asked if the rep had the retentions number and if I can get transfered to that number. The rep asked me if I wanted to cancel my plan. I said yes, probably. She told me the fees that I would have to pay and then I was transfered. Thats when the real "game" started. I told the new rep about the same situation about how i wanted data and debating whether I should switch carriers. The rep then started to offer me a better/cheaper plan but it still wasn't good enough. Thats when I started to state what I wanted. The rep offered 1000 evening, but I asked if I can have unlimited nights. The rep said, "I can do that". The rep offered 100 daytime minutes, then I said, "That is kind of little, can I have 200 or 250 minutes?" The rep said, "I can do that." So what I am trying to say is, the retentions rep will most likely give you a ok deal right off the bat. Then, you request what you really want. Request one item at a time. Once the rep agrees, then go to another item and request. Don't be too pushy tho. Ask politely and just hope that the rep would give you what you want. Remember to also ask if you are eligible for a hardware upgrade. I got a new iphone 3gs 16gb for 200 bucks.

I am sure I could of maybe asked for more but I am pretty happy with what I got. Some people say that you have to be angry or mean to get what you want on the retentions line but I got what I wanted by being very polite. This was actually my 4th time calling in retentions today not knowing what to say. But the 4th time is when I got what I wanted. The other times, I didn't ask to go to retentions and I didn't get what I wanted so I think it is crucial to ask to be transfered to the retentions line. Take a look at all the retentions plan that other people had posted on this forum and pick one that you like and try to get as close as possible to that plan.

Goodluck to you all and I hope this helped some of you ppl.

Yeah, you'll get transferred to a normal CS rep at which point you need to reiterate that you want to cancel your plan.

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-24-2010 02:03 PM

im still on the smoking plan, but i tried to help a friend getting a similar plan...it seems its a lot harder getting the special plan anymore
