got a question, I got a pretty good plan right now, and i am wondering am I allowed to pass this on to my friend and family??

If so, what would the best way be that I can do that?

Thanks

I told them it would be cheaper if I canceled now, pay the 500, sell the iphone, and switch over to telus which was offering me an awesome deal at 45 (which they were) and I'd save around 2 grand after a 3 year term.

I'm getting raped right now. I'm paying 110 a month.

Call again. Talk to another agent.

Have them call in and threaten to cancel, and when they get into Retentions and they ask what kind of plan they're looking for, have them reference your plan and what you're getting. They don't need to reference your name.

Are you serious?
I thought this doesn't work, if this works, then everyone would be using everyone else's plan in this thread, wouldn't they?

I remember one of my friends tried to do that (referencing my plan), but they say that this is only for a limited number of people and it is very very rare to get one of those plans, so they couldn't do it for her.

Speed2K 09-26-2009 06:09 PM

^^^depends on the CSR.

Dead serious. It's the fact that you may have to call in multiple times before you get a CSR that will listen to you (or better yet, top what you were asking for) which makes it a hassle. Besides, everyone is using everyone else's plan when you sign up for one of their vanilla ones. :p

So I'm wondering, who has the best plan here?

I sure know it isn't me.

I have the following for something like $30.74:
250 Daytime mins
Rogers to Rogers
Caller ID + Voicemail
Unlimited evenings and weekends (6PM)
Unlimited text
SAF + 911 + taxes

I'll be calling in sometime soon if I see better plans on RS...

- are you able to get a free hardware upgrade without renewing your plan or adding any options?

- are you able to add additional features to your plan without paying for more and just talking to Retentions?

- also, my friend renewed his contract YESTERDAY for another 3 years, but when i heard it, i wasn't really satisfied with it. is he able to renegotiate? does he have the grounds to considering he JUST renewed it?

i simply asked them how far i was from a hardware upgrade, they said november 2009 for a non-smart phone and november 2010 for a smart phone. then they asked me what phone i was looking at, i said bb 8900 and they gave it to me over a year in advance! i wonder how this works... i was only paying $25 per month before, but i've been a rogers customer for over 10 years..

can you elaborate on what you said?

you asked how far away form your hardware upgrade... then they don't just give you a EVEN better plan? are you paying more now?

- i want a hardware upgrade, but keep my plan.. i am wondering whether i should just call retentions and ask them... maybe kinda rude ain't it.

LC21 09-29-2009 10:48 PM

^
it might because he's been with rogers for over 10years.

Just wondering, I don't remember the exact details of my plan but when you got a retention plan, are you signed up for a 3 year contract?

My contract is about to come to an end (3yr), was thinking of resigning and getting a phone..

Any recommendations atm?

my plan:
250 daytime minutes
R 2 R talk n text
2500 text
Unlimited evenings & weekends after 5pm
caller id

total, $29.92~ after taxes.

Currently have a bb curve 8300 (no data, I like it for text)

ASG111 10-03-2009 11:39 PM

^ That's a pretty solid plan if you ask me. Just get them to hook you up with a bold. and add voicemail

might have 100LD and voicemail but i never use that.

you're doing well enough as it is lol

ASG111 10-05-2009 06:54 PM

- have you guys ever called retentions... agreed on a plan... called *611 to confirm your plan, and it was NOT the plan that you negotiated?

GOOD and BAD stories? anyone?

+Kardboard+ 10-05-2009 06:58 PM

Yup. Good story is that things worked out. Bad story is that all this started because the gal who gave me the retentions plan didn't properly put it into my account's memo, hence it took three months of calls before a) stuff was what was promised and b) I was paying for said stuff at the promised price.

(three months because we had to wait for bills to come :))

racerman88 12-08-2009 09:11 PM
