I called to ask about HUP, they quoted me with that price providing that i get a smart phone and add a data plan, but i never made up my mind on which data phone to get. So when my contract was up, i asked them to switch me to the new plan 27.95 and i will decide later on the phone upgrade with data plan. ...

They did it and i never made up my mind still. -_-

I have the following for something like $30.74:
250 Daytime mins
Rogers to Rogers
Caller ID + Voicemail
Unlimited evenings and weekends (6PM)
Unlimited text
SAF + 911 + taxes

I'll be calling in sometime soon if I see better plans on RS...

So all you did was ask to get switched the 27.95 plan?! This seems far too simple. Ughhhhh I want a plan like thattttt hahaha. If similar = more or less a like but shittier then yes.

Yeah, I know. I'm a push over... Want to make the next phone call for me?

wasabisashimi 12-11-2009 01:56 PM

the 27.95 was based on agreement that i will add on a data plan on top of it. But i never add it

You're awesome for getting them to bite down on that bait.

Most CSRs won't do that until you add the data. Which is a lame stand off. hahaha well done though!

I wonder how the other person who has the same plan as you got his plan...

+Kardboard+ 12-11-2009 03:29 PM

Props for being clever. Well done!

CRS, I am not doing your dirty work for you. Heck, I don't even do that for the (prettier) girls who ask me. I tell them to get back in the kitchen......or something. :p

2 years sounds about right.

They'll be sweatin' bullets by 3. But make sure you're not fishing, if you are, they'll flag your account.

Damn! That's so perfect.

Mine is right now same exact thing, but just the unlimited email bb package, @ $51.

Itching for the $10 more to get 500mb.. but my 8300 isn't worth it, not capable of 3g speeds.

cctw 12-14-2009 11:13 PM

ohh...i forgot to post my new plan

200 mins weekday..
unlimited after 9
caller id / vm / 2500 text
unlimited incoming
network calling
500mb data

$48.xx taxes in.......was supposed to get 300 mins but i got jewed by the rep as usual...not documenting it on the account and the next 5 reps end up having an arguing match with me and still wont give me my extra 100 mins

I have this plus 100 more minutes(350 minutes) for $25.11 after taxes and fees.

JSALES 12-21-2009 01:50 AM

how do you guys get these plans? is there a certain way to ask about it without being so suspicious? or you have to make up an excuse of some sort?

+Kardboard+ 12-21-2009 08:32 AM

The recurring theme throughout this, and all the other retention threads, is this:

  1. Be close to the end or finished your contract;
  2. Being a long-time client helps, but doesn't guarantee a good deal, while;
  3. ...being someone who does use, or is looking to start using, more mobile services such as data;
  4. Call Telus/Bell, ask them what kind of deal they will give you as incentive to switch;
  5. Quote some of the plans listed here, but do not refer to them as Rogers plans, can say they are what Telus/Bell offered you;
  6. If initial deal is crummy, ask for their ID number and name and politely turn it down;
  7. Call again and again until you get a good rep that will offer you what you want.
No one said that it was a walk in the park! :)

WTFFF!

How is it possible that you have more credits than your plan is worth?! I will buy you a six pack of beer or energy drink or whatever if you could get me the same plan.

That is ridiculously good!

cctw 12-22-2009 02:46 AM

nvm thats basically getting max credits $20 plan + $10 unlim incoming + $5 rogers to rogers feature credits....yup totally maxed out

custum 12-22-2009 02:07 PM

fucking rogers won't credit me back for the bold 9700 $50 price drop. I only got the phone 4 days ago

They say that the price is for new activations only, and since I was an existing customer I don't qualify even though I signed for another 3 years with them.
