IIRC, it's 15 days or under 15 mins call time. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

You would have to renegotiate your whole plan. That is what I was told, only the "new" plans can have the 2.58.

15 days, less than 30 minutes call time, no physical damage

No SAF for me either on my retention plan that I negotiated last week. They told me that it's no longer being charged to retentions...

Alpine50 07-26-2010 01:48 PM

When I upgrade my phone I'm going to try and hey one of these plans when I call where should I have them direct my call too again??

just say you want to cancel, if they ask why.. tell them that their telus or something can give you a better deal if you sign up with a shared plan or something.

then they will "Transfer you to someone who can help you" - that should be the customer loyalty dept.... aka retentions

JKam 07-29-2010 10:36 PM

Anyone going to try to get the new 6gb data plan thats coming out? I'm gonna see if they will just change my 500mb to 6gb... It's the same price I think.

CP.AR 07-29-2010 11:53 PM

I'll see how it goes, after I get my Galaxy S, so far I'm using only about 3-4 mb/day on my N82 off the data network. After that I might try to convince them to give it to me for a "subsidized price" as I am a loyal Rogers customer

JKam 07-30-2010 12:02 AM

I just want the 6gb so I don't have to worry about going over and getting raped by data charges. And so I can tether my laptop.

bakasam 07-30-2010 07:45 AM

Just got off the phone with retentions and my plan should be:

My Old Plan
$20 250 Day Time Unlimited Evening Weekend
$5 Early Evening 6PM
Call Display (credited 8$)
Unlimited Incoming (credited 10$)
$5 Text Messaging
$6.95 System Acess Fee
$0.75 9-1-1 Fee

Total: $37.70 before taxes

New Plan: Essentially the same thing except I got free early evening and lost my SAF/911 for the gov't fee

$17.50 200 Day Time Minutes, Unlimited Evening/Weekend, Early Evening 6PM
-Unlimited Incoming (credited 10$)
-Call Display (credited 8$)
-$5 500 Outgoing Text messaging (seems too few sometimes but I can manage with it)/Unlimited incoming sms
-$2.58 Gov't Fee

Total comes to $25.08 before taxes

Planning to go with the $30/6gb data plan when i do my HUP so total should be

$55.08 before taxes

Can you update us and let us know if they let you? I have the same thing. Thanks!

JKam 07-30-2010 09:18 AM

I was planning for one of you guys to do it first haha. I'll probably try to get it on Monday or Tuesday.

Damn I want that plan for fido

way2quik 07-30-2010 07:42 PM

Old plan:
/250 day
/ UL E.W @ 6PM
/ CID,VM, Name Display, 2500 text
/ R2R
/ SAF + 911
- $31.03 after taxes

Rogers offering:
300 day
UL E/W @ 6PM
CID, VM, ND, 2500 txt
- $27.xx after taxes.

Add the 6GB and my total somehow became $62.xx after taxes.

In other words, I'm paying a dollar more if I kept my old plan but removed the SAF and tack on the GRRF. She even planned to remove my R2R that's already credited.

I should call back Tuesday for something new. The CR lady explicitly stated she could not give me any monthly credits whatsoever.

Mr.JDM 08-01-2010 08:45 AM

new plan
17.50 EPP
30 6gb data
2500 text msg
caller id
voice mail
no SAF
50.08+tax

and $159 for the iphone4 upgrade if i get one.

old plan was $70 plus tax. exact same as above plan but with less text message

You should try getting the value pack so you get more texts (CID/VM/2.5ktexts) and ask for it to be credited. If they don't credit fully, try $5.

Call in and say something along the lines of "I was thinking of canceling because of __________ and was wondering how I would go about doing so" that usually works for me, then they'll transfer you to retentions. From there on explain to the person and they SHOULD start offering you stuff, you can tell them what your looking for, they should help you. Obviously you have to be reasonable and its different from person to person some reps are really hard to talk to and some will give you whatever you like. I wouldn't ask for anything directly just hint it

xpl0sive 08-09-2010 10:19 AM

hey i got an offer from rogers today... they are willing to give me

300 anytime minutes
unlimited eve/weekend starting at 6
unlimited text/picture/video messaging
visual voicemail/caller id
6GB of data
SAF waived
$65.08... is that a good deal or what? and yes i do need the 6gb of data and the unlimited texts

murd0c 08-09-2010 10:33 AM

damm thats the type of plan I'm looking for I think thats a pretty good deal. Thanks I'm going to use that as what I'm trying to get.

xpl0sive 08-09-2010 10:38 AM

ya telus is offering that right now, so they matched it... but i think Rogers is better than Telus, so I took the offer... now I'm gonna upgrade to the IPhone 4

murd0c 08-09-2010 10:43 AM

The trick is what else can you get added onto the plan? I'm going to try to get them to add 500anytime minutes.
