you can return the set then call the rogers tracking dept to confirm that its received and your HUP eligibility reset

geeknerd 09-29-2010 11:54 PM

sorry im a little bit confused with two above statements.

SO what you guys are saying is do a HUP get a new phone, once you receive the new phone call and demand for a HUP reset?

??? i dont get it lol

TOS'd 09-30-2010 10:00 AM

^

geeknerd HUP'd to a 9700 through retentions but then realized they released the 9800. so he is refusing the first package so he can HUP to the 9800.

LC21 09-30-2010 10:02 AM

So i just signed a new contract of 3 yrs and got my iphone. Should i start bitching about my expensive plan in the next few days? ahaha..

Heres what i have:
$30:
150 everyday min
unlimited weekend and evenings after 9pm, Rogers to rogers/fido
unlimited text
$30
6gb data
$8
Caller id
So that's $68 + tax + fees which comes close to 80.

And i have to pay $35 for activation fee, think i can waive that?

Kinda pricey ..

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-30-2010 10:11 AM

$35 activation fee there is no way u can waive it, i tried many times
before? yes

now with the I4 no way

geeknerd 09-30-2010 12:47 PM

Just called back.
Tried to get 5$ discount for the 6gb but the guy said wind mobile only offers 5GB for 25 so, its 30$ for 6gb is the best offer irght now. wouldnt budge

However, he was able to cancel my yet unshipped order of bold 9700 and got the torch for me! Someting that the person yesterday wasnt able to accomplish. he told me it was already shipped. fucking mofo.

I forgot to pricematch to bell for 179... fuckkkk

Do u think it would be too much if i called later at night? i wanna try one more time for a 5$ discount on data before wind's promotion is over today. Do they keep track of how many times u call? ive been calling everyday since monday.

Anjew 09-30-2010 02:14 PM

keep trying for the 10dollar data credit

say shit like even if you go over the limit you wont get charged overages... and also no contract so next year when shaws in the wireless game with native 4g technology the data rates will drop bigtime.

F3 09-30-2010 05:22 PM

If retentions has iphones in stock, should I just resign now and then call back later on to get more credits if they're not offering me what I want now, or would resigning with them kill any leverage I might have had before?
Posted via RS Mobile

geeknerd 09-30-2010 06:34 PM

just keep calling them back. they know u will have leverage because ur allowed to cancel ur services within 2 weeks i think. u should definately call today while the barganining chip of WIND mobile 25$ unlimited is still available.

Re-negociated a new plan... I don't think I even had to sign on for another 3 years either...

Either way, here is what I have:

350 Daytime minutes
Unlimited Evenings + Weekends (5PM-7AM)
Rogers to Rogers
Caller ID, Voicemail, 2500 Texts

All for $17.50 + GRT ($2.58) + Taxes = $22.69

P.S. Something to note, if you are calling in through *611, you're going to go through 2 regular CSRs before you get someone in customer relations/retention. The way I went about it was that I said I was already speaking to a customer relations rep but got disconnected. After I did that with the first rep, I thought the second rep would be a relations rep but I was wrong. Told him the story and then got referred again.

fuck thats a great plan
thats it im calling rogers again to wave my system access fee

woops posted twice

TOS'd 10-01-2010 11:50 AM

^ its so easy to wave your SAF. unless you are sticking to your old plan cause you think it is great, then i understand why they would continue to charge you SAF. but if you negotiate and get a new retentions plan, then you wont have to pay a SAF.

hey, I tried to bullshit my way thru, but I got the exact same plan as you except i am paying total including tax $30.**.

How did you do it. They told me there arent better plans, somehow they gave you more credit back. I have been with rogers for over 7yrs

I've been on rogers for about the same amount of time as you.

It is really up the CSR. I just argued in circles around the CSR because I come off as really unsure about getting a better plan/options but when I state my arguments, they are provide insight to the CSR on the other end to make them realize what they can do for me.

So instead of me saying you can do XXX for me, I ask what they can do, what options they have and by the art of manipulation/suggestion, you can direct the conversation and CSR to doing what you want. This can be accomplished by saying this like "well, what do you think is the best option" or "what would you do if you were in my situation". Play up their role but only after you have suggested what they could do. Don't be too direct with them because you don't want them to know that you have a plan in mind, instead suggest in a settle way but hint them towards the right direction.

You just need to be both patient and you need to have more than 1 go at it. Getting this plan isn't a one call, surprise cockface, I have a rocking plan, type deal. It is an accumulation of calls that add one thing at a time. With that said, some get lucky and some don't. It is really a crap-shoot at best but with enough insistence and calls, you'll get what you want.

P.S. I never call to cancel unless my plan is actually coming up or has already ended. I simply ask to speak with customer relations because I was speaking to them before but got disconnected.

wasabisashimi 10-01-2010 01:02 PM

Thanks.

And you're right on what is up next. Planning to get some sort of data package and smart phone.

I'm waiting for the launch of new carriers first and for wind and other competitors to make better moves.

Mark my words, in the upcoming year or two, the price for data is going to drop a lot because now, there is not a restriction on oversea corporations coming into Canada.

Thanks,

Posting my plan in hopes that it may help any one of you to get a better and even more awesome plan.

But seriously, reading this thread makes me depressed 99% of the time.

K-bad 10-02-2010 02:29 PM

I tried negotiating for a plan but they just said I should just cancel my plans... So i'm thinking of just cancelling and going to wind for the unlimited student plan. But cancelling is like 280$ since I have 14months left on my contract... Not sure what to do
